    Melissa, I love this setup of the video with time stamps. They makes it so clear and easy to follow. The serum you are talking about is very good according to my daughter in law. I got it for her as a birthday present, she overused the acids and damaged her moisture barrier. After 2 weeks of TO Soothing Serum her skin has healed completely and she considers it to be the best product she'd ever used. I looked at the ingredients and it has ceramides, vitamin B12, niacynamid, centella asiatica and gallic acid, the last one I'm not really familiar with, are you? But apparently it fulfills the promise of repairing the moisture barrier, which I think is essential for the active ingredients to really work. Thank you Melissa, and again, loved the video ❤

    Hello 😃 Thanks for letting me know. It's a bit time-consuming with the script, and I'm not sure what information I should include. Should I go deeper into the ingredients or leave that out completely and just focus on the application? What do you think? For checking ingredients, I generally use this website: incidecoder.com/products/the-ordinary-soothing-barrier-support-serum. Sometimes, I also refer to Paula's Choice dictionary, as they usually have a pretty good and, foremost, reliable ingredients summary.

    @@MelissaVanDijkOfficial Well, you could identify the active ingredients in order to explain their function. I always check the INCI of any product I use, yet not everyone does it. But I think what you are doing is very important and helpful, it shows us the proper way of application and every step. So don't stop doing that! Personally, I would also be interested in which active ingredients shouldn't be used together and which can. Whith such abundance of active ingredients available we don't really have the knowledge how harmful they could be if used incorrectly and in wrong combination. These are just my thoughts, but I must say that I'm religiously watching your channel because I trust you, you seem to be very knowledgeable but unbiased and honest, and to me it's the most important :)

    @@onlyscience28 Yes, I've been thinking about the main ingredients. However, identifying active ingredients that shouldn't be used together is challenging, due to the lack of guidelines. Companies are not required to disclose everything, unless they deem it important. Additionally, individual skin tolerance varies for each ingredient. What we need is a labeling system that specifies the exact amounts of ingredients used in their serums. This would allow people to make informed choices and enable creators to produce more detailed videos based on available research. As always, thank you very much! :)

    Hello, completely unrelated question but would combing niacinamide and vitamin C serums be an effective way of treating PIE? And if so, how would I go by including the both of them in my daily routine, I assume it's not as easy to just use both of them at the same time of day.

  • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

    @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

    Hmm... overall, it depends on how your skin responds to them. However, usually, Retinol/Retinoids and/or Azelaic Acid are used for PIE. Alternatively, it's always a good idea to see a dermatologist to analyze your skin more closely :)

  • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

    @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

    7 ай бұрын

    I think the combination might be a bit too potent, so I suggest splitting it into two routines. You could either use: EUK + Barrier Support Serum or Multi Peptide + Barrier Support Serum Technically, you could use one combination in the morning and the other in the evening. That should work, unless you don't tolerate an ingredient well, but that's something you'll need to figure out. ;)

What sunscreen do you use? Do you feel like the cleanser is able to break it down? Also, you may want to look into 'reusable makeup remover washcloths'; these are really handy for makeup and/or sunscreen removal.
