How to use The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% + HA | Full Demonstration

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video, I will show you how you can use The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% + HA.
Targets - Uneven tone, Textural Irregularities, Fine Lines
Format - Water-Based Serum
Regimen Step - Before Oils/Creams
Conflicts - Do not combine with other strong acids, EUK 134 0.1% or Peptides.
Time of Use - Ideally PM
The general rule of thumb for order of application is:
1. Water-based serums
2. Anhydrous Solutions and Oil Formulations
3. Creams & suspensions
Important:
If you have more than one water-based serum, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first), And it’s recommended applying eye-serums (such as Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG) first after cleansing.
And a maximum of three serum formulations in a single regimen.
Always apply sunscreen when you are exposed to the sun!!

I just bought the lactic acid treatment and niacinamide and I want to incorporate them into my skincare routine! My skin care routine is as follows: AM: -Cerave foaming facial cleanser -Witch Hazel -aczone (prescribed by my dermatologist) -Tatcha water cream moistuizer -SPF PM: -Farmacy Green Clean (to remove any makeup) -Cerave foaming facial cleanser -Witch Hazel -Epiduo forte (occasionally, also prescribed by dermatologist) -Peter Thomas Roth green relief moisturizer I just want to make sure nothing will conflict with the products, and if they will I can make sure to cut them out of my routine. Hey😊 For how long do you use this routine? And do those products work for your skin concerns? Well, I recommend that you talk to your dermatologist if it is fine to include the Niacinamide and Lactic Acid in your routine, to make sure that you won't come across any issues since you're using two prescribed products to treat acne. Also, I wouldn't recommend using Witch Hazel (in general) but mostly not in your PM routine when using the Lactic acid since the Ordinary doesn't recommend using multiple Acids in one routine. This is what your skincare routine will look like with the Niacinamide and Lactic Acid: AM: -Cerave foaming facial cleanser -Witch Hazel - Niacinamide -Aczone -Tatcha water cream Moisturizer -SPF PM: -Farmacy Green Clean -Cerave foaming facial cleanser - Lactic acid (when you're not using the Epiduo Forte) -Epiduo Forte -Peter Thomas Roth green relief Moisturizer Hope this helps🥰

I used it myself for an entire month, along with other Ordinary products as it was a routine for my skin concerns and I loved it a lot!😊 The fact that you have a moisturiser that has already Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide in it is great! But it depends on your skin concerns; if you have acne-prone oily skin, it may be best to use Salicylic Acid. You have to test it and see how it layers. There are so many products on the market that it's impossible to tell. The main issues with the acids are that they are very strong, and when using other acids or retinol that may irritate the skin, it can be an issue.

No, this means that you should only use it when needed, so as long as your skin needs it, use it, otherwise stop it. Leave it on the skin, there is no need to rinse it off! It's a leave-on exfoliant, not like the Ordinary Peeling Solution :)

Hello ❤️ This is what the Ordinary says: "The Lactic Acid does not need to be washed off the skin after application. Given it is a direct acid solution, we do not recommend using this product in your routine for a very long period of time. Generally speaking, you may either use it for only when the skin feels rough, or you may use it for a period of time, then pause the usage of the product. The time period does not need to be accurately monitored, you may make the judgement depending on how your skin is feeling."

I have just started using the ordinary products, started with the retinol with squalane and I love it! I have slight rocesia/ezecma on my cheeks and sometimes can get it around my eyes. I usually have dry skin and I'm finding that foundation etc isn't sitting right on my skin so I've kinda just given up with that and really started to focus on my skincare routine etc as I'm almost 30 and not realized until now how important your skin base is. There's so many products of the ordinary that it can be a little overwhelming trying to figure out what I need lol. My skin can be a little sensitive sometimes but is pretty good with most things luckily

Hello 😀 AM: Clean Hyaluronic Acid Niacinamide (Optional Moisturizer) SPF PM: Clean Lactic Acid 5% ( It's excellent for dry skin, and you can use it on a daily base! www.paulaschoice.de/en/all-about-exfoliants) Hyaluronic Acid Niacinamide (Optional Moisturizer) About 2-3 drops of each serum and 1 pea-sized amount of creams should be enough for the full face and neck. Always apply sunscreen when you are exposed to the sun!! Please note that with any active ingredient that affects skin behaviour, there can be an initial purging period during which breakouts are normal. Trying test patches of each new product first will allow you to identify whether you are sensitive or intolerant to a particular formulation. • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

    @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

    3 жыл бұрын

Hello again :) You can use them in the same routine or for example like this: AM: Cleanser Hyaluronic Acid 2% Niacinamide 10% (SPF) PM: Cleanser Lactic Acid 10% (Optional Hyaluronic Acid 2%) Niacinamide 10% However, if you have never used any acids before, I recommend trying a patch test first. Also, use it 2-3 times a week and then apply it more often if needed. You have to see what works best for your skin. It all depends on the skin concerns that you have. Some general information: It’s recommended using no more than 3 serum formulations in a single routine for optimal skin penetration. About 2-3 drops of each serum and 1 pea-sized amount of creams should be enough for the full face and neck. Use a "patting" application method, as opposed to "rubbing." Always apply sunscreen when you are exposed to the sun!! Some products can have a foaming effect upon application depending on the other products you are using in your regimen. The foaming should not last longer than a few seconds and both should not remain sticky once absorbed into the skin. (Video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pGRouZmrgbmXgpM.html) "Pilling" (snakeskin, shedding) can occur due to too much product. Your skin can only absorb a certain amount of product, and any excess will be left on top of the skin so that when the next product is being applied, it rubs off. (Video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/npN3maqtf5uYZqQ.html) If you wish to incorporate multiple Vitamin C's, Retinoids, and/or Direct Acids into your skincare regimen, it's suggested using them on alternate evenings and waiting until your skin has adjusted to one before introducing another. Hello 😀 After Lactic Acid? Yes, you can. However, it's recommended not to use more than three serum formulations in a single regimen. The chemical exfoliator (AHA or BHA) loosens the "glue" between the new and dead skin cells over time instead of using a scrub and rubbing it over your face. You just use Lactic Acid for example, apply it on the skin and leave it on the skin. The next day you wash your face some of the dead skin cells will already fall without even using a scrub or "special" cleanser. Does that make sense?🙈 So yes, kind of what you were already saying. And yes, you then can move on to the rest of your routine :)

Hello Ahmad, No, you don't have to, but if you want to use an exfoliant, you can use Lactic Acid. Exfoliant/Lactic Acid = For example, to eliminate dead skin cells and increase skin hydration. So you can apply it like this: Cleanser Lactic Acid 5% Hyaluronic Acid Niacinamide (If you have oily skin, you can add an antioxidant such as Pycnogenol 5% or Resveratrol and Ferulic Acid 3%) (If you have dry skin, you can add a moisturizer suitable for dry skin) Generally speaking, there is no need for the last steps; however, see how your skin behaves and adjust it based on your skin needs.

Great video, thank you for listing all the ingredients we should avoid as well. Your videos are really helpful. 😄❤️ I have a question though, I'm completely new to chemical treatments (this will be my first) and I wanted to ask where do I implement this product into my night time skincare routine? I have oily skin. I use Bioré charcoal cleanser with SA, tea tree toner, then I apply Vichy Aqualia thermal serum which contains hyaluronic acid, then I use serum for my eyes and my mouth area that contains retinol (which I assume I should avoid when using this lactic acid right?), then I follow up with a moisturizer and lastly apply a little bit of pure vitamin E oil. Where do I implement it in my routine (before the serums or after or after the moisturizer? or..?), can I use the Vichy serum with this product? Is that cleanser okay to use with this if it contains SA or do I need something that's more gentle? Advice would be really appreciated. 😟❤️

thank you so muuch for this video!! I recently purchased some the ordinary products and i would love some help with the order to apply them :) Acide lactique 10% + HA, 100% organic cold-pressed rose hip seed oil, Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA thank you so muuch!! Also my skin is acne prone and combination type, any other things that would be good to use would be awesome!! :)

Thank you🥰 You can use the Niacinamide once or twice per day/daily, however, if you're new to it, I recommend using it once per day until your skin has adjusted to it before using it twice per day. Also, if you're new to acids, I recommend using them 2-3 times per week at the beginning so that your skin can adapt to it before you're using it daily😊 You could use it like this: AM Routine: - Cleanse - Niacinamide - (Optional) TO NMF Moisturiser - SPF PM Routine: - Cleanse - Lactic Acid - (Niacinamide) - Rose Hip Oil and/ or TO NMF Moisturiser Do you use anything else at the moment? The general rule of thumb for order of application is: 1. Water-based serums 2. Anhydrous Solutions and Oil Formulations 3. Creams & suspensions Important: If you have more than one water-based serum, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first). It’s recommended using no more than 3 serum formulations in a single routine for optimal skin penetration. About 2-3 drops of each serum and 1 pea-sized amount of creams should be enough for the full face and neck. Always apply sunscreen when you are exposed to the sun!!

Hey :) New subscriber here. Thank you for this content! Really helps me with my skincare and the proper use of some products. I'm also using the lactic acid and was wondering if it's OK to combine it afterwards with the niancinamide 10 + zink from the ordinary and retinol. I'm really unsure about it as the website from the ordinary is a bit confusing with the do's and don'ts 🙈

I know apparently, they change it ongoing 😞 here is the website theordinary.deciem.com/at/theordinary_regimenguide.html So you should only avoid using it with other strong acids, EUK 134 0.1% or Peptides. However, in the beginning, I recommend not using it along with Retinol since this may lead to irritation. You can use it with Granactive Retinoids. But if you use Retinol, I recommend sticking to that for a while, and once your skin adjusted to the product, you can use both if you like. But generally, using them on alternate days makes sense unless you really struggle with some skin issues that you want to target example, textured skin.

@@mugiwarayadragneel724 So you can alternate between Niacinamide & Retinol and Lactic Acid & Niacinamide. Or use Niacinamide in the AM daily and just alternate between Lactic Acid and Retinol in your evening skincare routine so, that you can simplify the routine! Have you ever seen a doctor to analyse your acne and maybe give you an acne treatment for it?

I just found your channel and I'm in love. I'm trying to start upgrading my skin care routine with products from The Ordinary. I'm mixed skin prone to grease and I'm thinking of using the Niacinamide and get later into this Lactic acid at 5% for peeling. Can I make it work ? Or do you recommend something else ? I only have access to The Ordinary and Good Molecules products in my country, so it'll be awesome if you could recommend some of those brands Thank you so much 💕
