A very good explanation! How do you remove "holes" (i.e. add small unselected areas) within your wand-selection (without going over each one)?

I would suggest just using the Brush Tool and painting on the layer mask to fill mistakes. Much easier overall.

Is there a way you can manually outline something and delete whatever is not outlined?
Great video Brendan. 1 question: I used the magic wand tool and selected a character on my image, then used the Selection tool and moved it to another location. Good so far. Then I went to the Magic Wand and clicked on another character and this is where it got weird. The new selection was not selected, instead, the previous (moved) selection got the marching ants again. Any suggestion?

Make sure to hold Shift to add to whatever active selection you have. Also if your other character is in a different layer this can cause this problem too. So you might want to choose the all layers sample setting in that case.
how about if i want to remove object but keep the background .?
Great video. However, it would be helpful you provided the sample of the photo used. This is a key factor when learing photoshop!
When I press delete it brings up the fill tool. Why is that?
For some reason I'm not getting all the same wand options in 2021 photoshop. Not liking the new interface.

Hmm, this video was recorded with Ps 2021 so they should be there.

Yeah but this is like using a screwdriver to nail in a hammer. You’re using an outdated way to do things when the background remover is a thing.
Nothing works...nothing at all...
