sometimes if the machine is not too new, it does have the sound.

LOL You never set the timer for 50 minutes for timed dry... you actually set it for auto dry. You have to look at where you put the "pointed arrow" on the knob to know what cycle you're on... the "point" was on the auto dry part, not on timed dry.
