How to Use Tapestry and Intarsia Crochet for Color Work, how to change colors in crochet
See how to combine Tapestry Crochet and Intarsia Crochet to complete a color work piece.
Tapestry crochet is a technique where you carry the different colors of yarn through the piece and work your stitches around the carried yarn.
Intarsia crochet is a technique where you use bobbins of different colors and drop the yarn after you use it, then pick it back up on the next row.
For a more detailed description and explanation of these techniques check out the blog posts below.

You're very welcome!
I wrap the excess 3/4ish of yarn around my hand and then the last wee 1/4(ish) bit I go around the middle of the loop I just made (I guess it kinda looks like a bow), then I use a jumbo stitch marker & go thru the middle wrapped yarn & one side of loops (so it doesn't unravel) & then use the stitch marker to attach it to the crochet already made so it's not flopping about or dangling in the way :)
Excellent video!!! Great and beautiful work! I was wondering how to you this techniques together for a panel with some abstract forms for a sky and a plantation of flowers ... Thanks for sharing you knowledge!!!!!

Thank you very much! So glad it was helpful!
Thank you for showing us how to do BOTH at the same time.. the colors are more vibrant and the design, more clear when both techniques are combined. I didn’t know that it was possible to combine the techniques, haha, though, of course that makes sense. :)

Thank you! Cheers!
I found my grandma's old perm rods the ones with the elastic cord that plugs in other side and wrap my yarn around it works great never falls apart and good hold and you can hook it to the project as well with the plug on end. Anyone use them?
What yarn are you using? It looks better than what use.. That yarn is perfect even to use for a design rug..
What still comfuses me is how do you know where the colors go to the back or stay in the front. Beautiful crochet. Thank you
Really pretty. You probably have yarn color listed I just want to be sure what's used and how much for this lovely pattern. Are you working in the front or back? Also is the patter a blanket?

Hi Cindy, the yarn I used is comfy cotton from WeCrochet. I'll add a link to it in the description for you. I'll look up the exact colors as well and list them there too. The pattern is linked in the description. It's a little carry all bag.
How to hide the yarn without carrying it thanks
How did you start?
How about when it is round?

If working in the round I recommend only using the tapestry crochet technique and carrying all colors as you go. You can also float the yarns in the back of the piece if you don't mind the wrong side having strands of yarn showing.
The pattern is not there it a empty site where can we find the pattern. Guess I will Google it.
