I can’t even begin to tell you how much I appreciate this content. I have been searching and searching for information like this and it is incredibly difficult to sift through the million courses that are sold these days that end up just giving a marketing program that feels sleazy. I’m not a person that hates social media, but I don’t want to be a car salesman if you know what I mean. I am going into my first year farming, but I also am trying to drive business for my photography since moving a year ago. I’m leaving this video feeling inspired and not quite so overwhelmed with it all. Thanks again. I watch a lot of flower and gardening content and your videos have been some of the best as far as answers to questions I’ve had a hard time finding answers to. Congratulations on being so successful this early in your journey. I look forward to seeing where else this farm takes you. 🌻

Thanks for the inspiration. Until very recently I've been disliking posting as it feels so fake and sleezy. Until I realized I can and should do it MY way and make it fun for me. Now I'm loving it. Remember that done is better than perfect. Posting once a week is better than never and a very good start. There are scheduling services (meta, Adobe, later...) that help with the logistics and timing.

Ha! I’m not a flower farmer and at 76 years old I probably won’t be starting one. But, I found this video on marketing fascinating. I’ve always wondered how social media worked.

Great video! Do you have a marketing background or are you self taught? I hope a big Fortune 500 company doesn't snag you up to head their sales department (we would miss you)! I love the way you are willing to share your knowledge so generously and your presentation is so inspiring. I created a cottage garden last year and am now considering starting a flower farm in Arkansas. My area doesn't have the population of a nearby Tulsa but perhaps I could somehow make it a "destination" since we are blessed with summer tourists. I will be visiting my brother in Eufaula, OK next week, if it was summer I'd stop and purchase a bouquet! Thanks again. Martha

Very good information! Recently I had to go back and look at my page to see if it is easy to see where we are located. I added the location and noticed I didn’t write local flowers. I specifically stay away from local flower farmers to not compare myself but I will occasionally look for patterns of posting. Thanks for tips on engaging with LIKE and FOLLOWING. I’m trying to get my town interested.

Great question! 🙃 I need to work on it. Probably end of January I will try to prioritize it. We have an interview coming up and then tulip planting so hopefully after those!

I started populating my Facebook with the wins of last year and my plans for next year. I do not have a lot of pictures and no followers but I feel that it's better to have posts than nothing.

Thank you so much for making this clearer. Social is a such a time suck for me and I really resent that. I know I have to do it and I do and still have so much to learn. Quick question - is it best to post at approximately the same time everyday. I really jump around depending on what is happening. I generally post at night after I am done in the fields. thank you.

Thanks! A thing I finally did was cleave off the flowers from my personal page. Now trying to give weekly updates to my personal page so that they see some but don't get spammed! Winter content is a challenge and I wish I had taken more pictures. Thanks for a great video

How do you capture emails outside of a website?

I had a Business IG acct when I first started and for some reason I changed it to a personal acct. So I have my flower farm and my personal IG acct. What is the advantage to a business acct? and if I switch to a business acct would I lose my content that is on my page now? Great info, looking forward to Part 2

For years I’ve been posting on social media for houseplants and hobby gardening. This will be my first year dipping my toes into flower farming. Should I start new social media accounts for the new flower farm name? Or change my current accounts to reflect the farm name?

If you are going to use your existing account exclusively for your farm then I would just change the name. If it’s going to be a mix of content, then make a new account.

The adjustments to the algorithm take awhile to take effect. I mention that they are saying they are adjusting the insta one but I haven’t noticed it.
