How to use SharePoint Pages for your Company Policies

Ғылым және технология

In this video we introduce a combined approach to managing company policies.
Instead of having policy documents as word documents or PDFs, they can be kept online, such as on a web page or SharePoint page.
To make this possible, a content type called "policy page" has been created in the content type gallery which inherits from the SharePoint page.
This content type has been added to the site pages library, and a template has been created for content authors to create new pages based on the policy page content type.
The template includes a file viewer web part to insert associated policy documents, a people web part for policy owners, and a text web part for the introduction to the policy.

This is really great! What would be awesome is to also create a search vertical for policy pages only

Everything makes sense- Thank you - apart from the very first bit. How do you add the new Content type to Content type gallery and mark the Parent to be "Site Page"?

This was great! I’m confused, I need to allow policy owners to go to the “site pages library” (vice going to the homepage) and select “new”, select ‘Policy’ and the new policy template display. When I tried, I get a basic template and not the policy template that I created with these instructions. When I checked the content type, template, it shows /_layouts/15/CreatSitePage.aspx and not the template that I created. When I replaced the OOTB url with the path to my Policy template, then back to ‘site pages’; ‘New’; ‘Policy’; it takes me to the Policy template- to edit the template (save template) and not to create a new page based on the template. How can I change this?

Thanks for your useful video. I have created a content type based on Site Page from the Content Type Hub from SharePoint admin. I could add it to the site pages library but the new button is only showing "Link" - I can't see the other content types not even "Site Page" when clicking on New button.

Is there a way to have the user agree to the page that they have seen and read the policy?

Not out of the box but you can create a web part or even I have seen Microsoft Forms be embedded into pages so that a user ticks a box
