How to use reverb in logic pro x is often a question I'm asked in the comments section. Also, what is reverb and should I use reverb in my logic sessions? I'll cover all these reverb questions in this video to help you get starting within logic. If you're using a different DAW other than logic pro x then don't worry because the reverb principles are the same even if you're using different reverb plugins (free or paid) in other DAWs. Let me know in a comment if you still have questions on how to use reverb.

🙋🏼♂hi everyone, here are my 6 Pillars on Learning Logic Pro Faster (FREE): www.charlescleyn.com/learn-logic
These tutorials are brilliant! You're concise and I learn so much. I'm transitioning from Garageband (where I was messing around not really knowing what I was doing) to Logic and trying to actually understand production and your videos have been wonderful. Thank you!

Hi Charles, when I chose a reverb and experiment with it, and I want to start again, how can I set back all the knobs to the levels I started with when I opened the, let's say, the ChromaVerb?
Are you suggesting that you can setup a separate bus to represent the reverb positions of front, middle, and back stage, and then route the instrument to the correct bus to place it on stage?
I sent a lot of kids on the bus today ;) Thanks for the excellent video!

You’re very welcome Timothy. If you’re interested, I have a free PDF download of Logic Pro tips in the description too.
Busses are mainly for different tracks sharing the same effects to lighten the cpu load. This is best demonstrated with at least two or three tracks. Otherwise, most all reverb units allow you to control the level of dry and wet signals.
This video could also be called understanding buses in logic, something I just did not get until watching this video and I was totally confused by it. Thank you so much!!!

when adding the space designer I only get "stereo" or "dual mono" as an option, what do I do? please help🧐
Really cool and helpful short video about reverbs. Just one little question though. I understood about the benefits to send it to a Bus and playing with the send button to increase it or decrease it but what about the actual Bus volume slider where the reverb is located, does it always stays on 0db? Or do you have to/can play with it as well to get the desired effect. Thanking you in advance!
@CharlesCleyn
2 жыл бұрын
Hey Freddy, I recommend finding the reverb you like in the plugin (that is on the bus track) and then use the the bus signal (the green slider thing) to get the desired feel of the reverb on the track. To give you an idea, I rarely ever have it at 0db.
why does my Logic Pro X default space designer not come with the options to cycle through the large space , medium space , small space , etc options?
how can I hear the reverb in the headphones w/o recording the reverb onto the track (for when I am tracking and want to hear reverb on my voice so I can sing better lol)
great instructions! But can I give you a video tip? Turn the autofocus either off or to single. af-s. AF-C keeps trying to find you when you're sitting still and therefore keeps losing you. If you're sitting mostly still then you really don't need the servo to keep looking for constant changes. Just a tip.

Hey Charles! thanks a lot for this tutorial. I had a question tho. How could i copy the same reverb and bus for one track to another track? how can i just copy the whole thing to another track?
@CharlesCleyn
2 жыл бұрын
Hey man, use command option c and then command option v. This will copy and paste the plugins one track to another.
Im also transitioning from GarageBand and this video taught me a lot. How do i know which kids are getting on the bus when you click and drag? What if i don’t necessarily want the guitar to have that reverb in particular but i want everything else to? Would this mean creating a separate plug-in to separate and distinguish those tracks? Thanks

What's it's the best way to make reverb and all effects generally ?On each vst instrument or make it on master piste tks?
@CharlesCleyn

a bit of both but it’s good to start on the instrument itself
Hi, Charles: Great videos you have. Thank you so much for this one on using reverb AND I really like your music. I have a question. I'm doing SFX on an audio drama and I'm trying to figure out how I can use a BUS on a region (Section Based Processing). Since my characters move from inside to out, and room to room to garage, I would like to be able to easily move them from room to room and have the reverb reflect that, but there doesn't seem to be a way to apply a BUS in the Section Based Processing feature (and I can't find anything or any tutorials out there on how to do it...but there HAS to be a way). Do you know? Can you help?

Hi Elizabeth, I believe what you’re trying to accomplish here is automation. I have a video on KZread about this and I can help you. Also, if you’re interested, I have a free PDF download of Logic Pro tips in the description too.
I have a quick question about some of these tools... I know that you can use Buses to add reverb to different tracks, but is there a way to remove reverb? Sometimes when I sample something, there's a little bit of reverb in the notes (despite no buses being present).
@CharlesCleyn

Yes you definitely can. You can try doing this with automation. I have a video on that in my channel if you’d like. Also, check out my free logic tips if you’d like to in the description.

Hey man, try updating logic. They should be there.
Great video! I’m just curious. I still don’t understand why Put it on a bus? Aside from routing other channels to the same reverb/bus. Can’t you control the dry and wet when it’s directly on the channel anyway so it’s not over saturated as if it’s on a bus? Especially if you have the cpu power?. I’m sorry I’m still new to this thanks again!
@CharlesCleyn
2 жыл бұрын
hey jon, of course you could have it on the channel. It's fine. As you start to produce more, you'll get into a rhythm of understanding when you should bus vs not. I often put it on the channel if I want to really design a specific reverb but often times I'm bus'ing a reverb just to give it some space and I would re-use that bus on other tracks too.

oh yes, reverb in a cave, that's the sound I hear when interviewers call, and they think they so crystal clear, and then tell you given 1 billion stars, and 1 billion velocities, and then now condition X, Y, Z, now how do you catch the most stars given N seconds, and then is your solution optimal, etc, etc, and why they spent 2 years to research it and now you can't solve it in 25 minutes and give the most optimal answer. Better yet, with the cave reverb, consistently typing on his keyboard, bang bang bang, while you think about how to solve the problem over the phone, bang bang bang. Why? Because he can.
This video should have been called what is reverb
