I did but it's effective only for images while in the video it gives bad results especially with animated models like people it give a ghostly effect plus some strange glows in the reflection surfaces...

Could you make a video comparing photos with rt on and off? Since it can be very time consuming I wonder if it would be smarter to leave it off in certain scenes!

Lumion still lacks the "infinite mirror reflection" like in vray. I did a render of an interior with two mirrors facing each other. The reflection in mirror 1 isn't reflecting in mirror 2.

Dear Justin, I'm about to figure the Lumi's ray tracing feature (=how not to burn out the pictures), yet listened through this one of yours, and it was really edicational, despite the fact I'm only started Lumi23... Any idea how to make not burn out pictures with this new feature, or is there any options to reduce the burn outs, or with this version we need to be "careful" (and build the scene around it)? Thanks in advance.

hello do you have a video of an exterior rendering using ray tracing? I would like to see if there is a reflection of trees and plants on the glass windows.tnx

This feature makes lumion extremely better. I couldn't adapt to long rendering time but the interior renders are amazing

You are getting flickering in your recording because you are using your machine to both record and render. You may want to use your old machine to do the recording/screen capturing. Just get an hdmi input card or something like that. They are cheap. Alternatively, you can try to prioritize your recording app to have higher process priority (task manager - details - right click on app - set priority)

I'll play with this - honestly it's something that was fixed in the 2022 version of Camtasia but sometimes I have to record in the old version so I can edit on a different PC. I can fix it pretty easy just by filming in the right version...lol

@@TheRenderingEssentials At this point you will want to see what the card can do natively with its NVenc(oder). I presume camtasia uses something else (man thats old). Nvidia probably has its own built in software for screencapture. AMD does.

Any tips for exterior raytracing? The interiors are much better but I'm having trouble getting exteriors to look good - everything seems super overblown (even with the exposure/brightness/sun all the way down) and the colors are washed out.

same, able to get lighting in some views to look alright using color correction fx (gamma, shadows etc). However details get lost, looks like illustrator image trace, even with samples maxed out. Turned off denoiser and then it looks very static-y, even with bounces maxed too :/

Yes, I also have the same problem with outdoor scenes. Everything looks overexposed and washed out. And what's more: the materials all have to be processed. It is not possible to edit "one" scene for both rendering techniques at the same time!

I've found out that you should not import settings from old Lumion projects. In the new version, the "Exposure" effect is no longer available separately, but can be found under Color Correction. If you import the settings of old scenes (e.g. from version 11.5), the scene will be overexposed because the "Exposure" effect gets imported too. The best thing to do for exteriors is to rebuild the effect chain step by step! But still: the RT Render looks not good. Not even close to the Raster Render

Try switching off auto exposure in the Color Correction tab and manually play with exposure. Hope it helps

Why do lights not work with Ray Tracing? I have a shot at dusk that has a lamp on in the corner but the light doesn't show if Ray Tracing is on.

578 hours to render 11 second movie in 4k, i have i9 cpu and graphic card 3080 rtx 64gb ram ????? How could that be possible?????? Any Render tips...?

How do you use artificial light with raytracing? Can you make a video about this? I liked having artificial light inside with the sun outside. thanks

Would have been cool to see your 6 second clip rendered out. Not uncommon for me to have clips that take 20 hours with the rastered system. I dont expect I'll be doing many raytrace videos in the near future. 😂

2 Long questions-_-: I’m using lumion on (laptop with an external hdd, on an i7 gen12, rtx3060, 16ram) which of these specs are making Lumion run so slow? 2: whenever I use the ray tracing it renders dark images, so should I use the (original sun) or the (by filter sun)?
