@2:40 to add an emphasis on this point: You get paid for "wait time" from the moment you pay for the order until the moment you click "picked up the order" so don't click "accepted" until you are back in your car with the order and ready to drive to the customer. I made this mistake of accepting as soon as possible and then waiting for 20+ for Wingstop to make their chicken wings. Well, as you guessed, I did NOT get paid for those 20+ minutes. So, lesson learned...

Hey guys I have a question.. I just started with Postmates, i remember when I signed up it asked me for a city where I wanted to work .. but my city don’t even get hotspots at all lol I been working this app for 3 days now and I only got 5 orders so far .. when I look at the hit map I can see that other cities are having hot spots can I just go there and see if I can get orders?? For example I live in laurel Maryland but the hot spots are in Washington DC is about a 30 min away. I’m asking this because I did just that today and spend about 2hr just sitting there and I didn’t get any orders

So yes. To answer your question, there will be cities and areas without “hot spots”, that just means it’s not as busy in that area. Since the hot spots are in DC, you can drive over to see if you’ll be getting deliveries. Being in the hot spots only increase your chance of getting an increase/boost in delivery payout!

After you activate your card, how long will it be activated for? What if I dont work for a month and get back to it. Will I need a new card?

So I can do deliveries but I’ve yet gotten the commercial prepaid card that comes with it any advice or has anyone experience this?

To get paid for wait time, you just have to be in the area of the restaurant (or pick up place) GPS from the app will automatically start counting how long you are in the area.

Im a new driver its looks good.but i have a question i dont have the prepaid card yet but i order it .how long it takes. So i can get it.and if i ll get more deliveries with the prepaid card?

Yea, that could happen sometimes ... it’s really horrible and embarrassing when it happens. If you find a mistake, try and report it. Usually that’s what I do!

Ok one question . Why does Postmates fleet have to use a card to pay for an item a customer orders ? Why aren’t the items already paid for and the fleet driver just goes and picks them up ?

you forgot about the part where the customer orders something that is somehow completely not on the menu then you have to call them and try to figure out what the hell they want instead.

The worst one was a frozen yogurt place that had no lids and they taped cups on top of eachother as makeshift lids haha

Usually you can access help though the “Support” button in the app. However, it seems like you can’t get in contact with an actual person. From what I know, you’ll either get prompts, or have to fill out a form, and wait for a response from Postmates.

What are the chances of doing deliveries while walking or riding a bike?

If you use a bike, you’ll get deliveries that are close, so you aren’t biking very far.

Sometimes that might happen. If so, try going onto the Postmates Fleet website and see if you can reorder a bag. If not, they might have ran out. You can just use any thermal bag if you want!

Yea, so if you went online and there were no hotspots, just try and drive around to see if anything pops up. Usually, after 1am or 2am, most of the time the hotspots are gone. However, if it's the middle of the day and their are no hotspots, just drive around and see (:

Nomadunlimited, yes you can! You can use either Waze or Google Maps on your phone, or just use a separate GPS system! Just put in the address as it shows.

No problem! If you have the apps already downloaded on your phone, it should prompt you when you click on the “Green Arrows” to navigate over to the destination!

Not really. It’s just good to have if you get one. If not, just use a different thermal insulated bag!

Usually you’ll have to go into the restaurant and order in person and then just wait for the order to be ready. Sometimes you can call, but most restaurants do not allow Postmates driver to call an order. It’s preferred that you order in person.

Atroxidy, from my experience, dinner tends to have the most orders and you’ll usually be very busy from 6pm to 10pm. (At least here in Austin) however, lunch is still busy but only peaking about 11am to 1pm. It’s ok, but can die out faster. Hope this helps!

Yea, that will happen. It depends on the day and the time. So if it’s a Saturday night, you’ll for sure get orders! However, it it’s Monday morning around lunch. It tends to be slow. I recommend just trying out all the days and times, and seeing when your city has a lot of orders! It can be a hit or miss until you develop a good rhythm.

I thought checking what inside of the order is not my job my job is to deliver the restaurant are the one on that is the restaurant job to check the other and make so everything is in there to grow up their business

I have been told "NO" twice at different asian restaurants when I asked for soy sauce packets They said "the customer did not order soy sauce in the app". I've had a few places get defensive simply by me asking for condiments or double checking that everything was there!

So yea, once you have signed up and all that good stuff, you just have to open the app and click " Go Online" and a delivery will just pop up! Once something pops, you have the option to "accept" or "skip" the delivery. So, in order for delivers to pop up, you want to be in those "hot spots", which are the red color areas on the map. This will increase your chance of having a delivery pop up! I hope this answers your question, if not, let me know! I am always happy to answer all kinds of questions!
