How to use keder tape: top tips for sewing sunshades, etc for your caravan, motorhome or campervan

I've made a couple of really simple sunshades for our camper van and caravan (and before that folding camper) so here's how I did it and what I've learnt. PS Making a sunshade is an incredibly easy project...
Materials/tools/etc.:
Aluminium poles: (Kampa ones now don't come with a spike so try these:) amzn.to/3uHP5Rr or these: amzn.to/3oDayHl
Plain grey water resistant soft fabric: amzn.to/3GPJbAs also comes in blue, orange, yellow, lime green, turquoise! Amazing! Use it for outdoor cushions!
Geometric white/black/grey fabric: amzn.to/3HLKn90 also comes in the most amazing aqua/lime: amzn.to/3sROmLh or try a tropical leaf print: amzn.to/33cUvbQ or bright "sploges!": amzn.to/3sCJIRb
Keder strip: black: amzn.to/34ruPcp white: amzn.to/3rGW0sg
The thread I always use: Gutermann Sew-All: white: amzn.to/3GK7NdN (various colours of best value 1000m spools via this link) or black: amzn.to/3HNaNaG
Favourite sewing scissors (really sharp!): amzn.to/3oGoW1T
Sailmakers tape: amzn.to/3MEtb7j
Quilting tape: This will wash out BUT it's not as easy to get to stay put on waterproof fabrics but IS MUCH less likely to gum up your needle so you might find it easier to work with: amzn.to/3NvANu2
Isabella Isotex/Fabsil silicone waterproofing spray (don't breath it in!): amzn.to/3H0O1MW
Eyelets (check the diameter you need!): amzn.to/3xpT9qA
Fabric glue: amzn.to/3aDciMY

You mention about just stitching it as if every household has a sewing machine. I would imagine 5% has one. I don't know personly anyone who has one. What I did was my own sunshade. Was buy some extra heavy duty double sided tape. Has worked well under some very heavy winds

I've just bought a van with a C-channel rail and have some poles from an old stick on awning and was wondering how to piece the two together whilst keeping it secure AND waterproof. This video has answered a lot of questions I had,. Thank you for taking the time to make it and for all the links as well.
