"Hey everybody, it's AJ from Disney Food Blog!" Magic to my ears...

We just got back from Disneyworld and once we used genie + we couldn’t bare not to use it for the rest of our trip. To save so much time with kids in tow was worth every penny for our large group. We also splurged and bought the individual lightning lane for flight of passage-100% worth it for us. I realize not everyone can, but IF you can, it made it so much more fun for us. And in animal kingdom it did come in handy for the amazing shows!

Agree re Flight of Passage. I always line up as soon as I enter the park at 9AM, or just don't bother.

Go to water park in morning. And AK in evening and start stacking them at opening

Animal Kingdom is about ebb and flow. Everest and Avatar areas dictate most of the flow of queue times. If one is higher than the other I usually recommend doing things nearer the currently busier ride. Usually the masses push to the lowest wait times on the App and if you head the opposite direction as times are fluctuating you can absolutely get lucky.

This makes me happy about Disney World!

@Table of 4! well lucky for us, we will be using gift cards we got for free so we’ll be paying nothing. 😁👍🏻 We might even splurge and give Genie a chance to see how we like it.

@Its_Us_The_Griffins They hardly hit that $170 too, I normally see them top off at like $145.

I got genie + for two out of three of us at Animal Kingdom in March and it was a waste of money. My son never got to use it so they refunded us. I only got to use it once. There weren’t any options as they were already used up. 🙁

It's a good thing that Disney only needs Disney Genie+ in the parks and not in Disney Springs

Dinosaur is my favorite ride in Animal Kingdom so I would do that over tough to be a bug but they typically have a lower wait time over every other ride so you should be able to ride both

The fact that they now charge for this formerly free service and you can’t even book ahead makes it so inconvenient. Disney needs to get their head out of their behind on this one.

Best answer, don't use genie. Don't need to waste money on something you don't need to do. Don't fall into Disney's greed

In the $15 price range I think it’s well worth it. Rapids safari and Navi river plus you could do Everest but we also do single rider.

@@delwinalvarez8086 foolish mortals!!!! Yes we sure are! My husband and I both make really good money, we stay in deluxe resorts, eat at all the fancy Disney restaurants, do the tours and after hours events and YES we DO get genie +!! You sound really bitter and Jealous….but have a great day 😂

How to use Genie+ in Animal Kingdom? Don't. It will be a total waste of your money. If you're a family of 4 it will be an extra $100 to do the same thing you can do without Genie+. Use the hundred bucks to buy a nice lunch in the park.

Sorry thumbs down for me. The big issue is that if you are an international traveller and do not have data roaming on. Animal Kingdom does not have the required Wi-Fi for you to use this app. Once kicked off the app for no Wi-Fi you then cannot get back on without a password sent to your email account, you can only get your email on a secure connection and have to travel to a resort. So to keep using the app you now have to go to a cast member every time you want to make a reservation. Disney have this as a known issue; however no one mentions it so doesn’t need fixing.
