You can get foil glue, but it's nowhere near as good a foil gel.

@@MissJosNailCo Thanks for these tips! (Pun intended, you're welcome!) This was fun and frustrating - but I got yellow/brown plaid nails with little orange and yellow butterfly decals covering the most noticeable mistakes. Also, acetone removes the foil and nail glue to start over on that nail. If cured gel polish is beneath, the acetone does nothing to the base color, so I could just keep on working on getting the foil to adhere without weird creases. I found a tutorial that used a *nail stamper to flatten the foil* over the nail, and I may try that next time to see if that works to resolve my creasing issues?

Love the pink it’s similar to baby pink, I love all shades of pink it’s my favourite nail colour, I really love the foils it ends airbrushing for me and painting flowers by hand, there’s so many to choose from too, thanks for sharing & subscribed👍🏽✅🥰

@breakrulesnotnails how did this glue turn out for you? 100% perfect? Or were there gaps? I just bought a foil glue from a different brand and it was pricey. It works pretty well, still gaps, but I don’t want to buy another glue if it’s only just as good as the One I have.

Glad to be of help! Some gel polish tacky layers just aren't tacky enough, and most definitely aren't tacky enough for full coverage foils!! Hope you get better results now! 🥰

I did and they are gorgeous! Honestly it's super embarrassing but I was putting the foils on backwards. All of the tutorials I watched used clear foils so I couldn't tell. I made these GORGEOUS rose quartz nails using foils from poochiez nails. I also have her stiquick gel that works great. I just couldn't nail the technique but thanks to your video my nails are done and I am in love! 😍 Also I love your humor! Can def relate to being unfit, especially after quarantine. 🤣

Thanks! As it's a foil gel, it's designed to work with gel polish, or on top of your filed/refined builder gel or acrylic. If you want to use foils on regular polish, it's better to use a foil glue, as a gel will likely lift/crinkle.

Good video! Thanks for sharing! I have a question, though. Every time I use foils, they crack either with regular nail polish or gel polish when I apply a top coat. I haven't found a top coat that does not ruin the foil. Have you tried the metallic foil you showed in your video and does it crack when you use the Diamond gloss top coat?. Thanks!

Hey! I totally know what you mean! I have found that Diamond Gloss has very minimal cracking, and if I'm doing patches of foil or one with a pattern on clear foil, I go straight over with Diamond Gloss and have no issue, but if I do a full nail of a full foil (as opposed to the flowers/patterns that have clear around them) I do a coat of Foil It on top of the foil (so foil gel, apply foil, then foil gel again) then cure, and then top. It makes sense that foils would be affected by having a gel painted on top, so definitely try a coat of foil gel over them and see if that helps!

The clear foils can go on any colour, so I usually swatch them with no colour underneath, then I can hold them over colour swatches for clients to see. They are all gorgeous!

Ive had so many issues with foils so far, I’m a home user. But i just knew it was the rubbish gel i had from eBay. So I’ve now ordered foil it from diamond glitters, using your code. Thanks so much for your hints and tips, i cant wait to try it out when it arrives! :D x

This brand went bust last I heard, but there are lots of cheaper (and still work perfectly) foil gels out there (Makartt, Born Pretty, Vettsy - all of which I have discount codes for in the description!) and any brand foil gel will work with any brand foil 😊 x

I've found that top coats do tend to take the smooth appearance off a bit. Try floating your top coat over (not pressing the brush on to the surface).

LOVED this video - especially the last few seconds lol. Never done foils before but thanks to you am going to try it using your code above. Just wondering, can I put foil on over a couple of layers of clear dip (for extra strength) or even use the clear one's over coloured dip powder? Not sure if the activator will interfere with the foil gel - trying to figure out what the order should be .. base, dip powder, (repeat), activator, foil gel (cure), foil then finally gel top coat - final cure?

Thanks! I've never done dip nails before, so can't advise on when to use the foil gel, but it can go on the buffed layer of colour I suspect. As long as it's either a tacky gel surface, or a buffed surface it'll be fine!

I went and bought a load of foils from Diamond Glitters after watching you - some lovely stuff there - have you got any video's with chrome or pigment - and are they the same thing? I'm SO confused ... here's a thought, you can come to my house and stand two meters away from me to show me how to do EVERYTHING ... (I have alcohol & chocolate) .....

Glad it's helpful! Yep, I top my swatches, otherwise they'll not be shiny. Some people swatch on the underside so they don't have to top; I used to do that but they often popped off the back!
