Got any creative uses for any of these settings? ⬇️

I will try the flat settings to spray aphids, we have a lot of aphids on the corbaci peppers and the okra 😕 The mist is definitely a great idea to use on yourself 🥰

i like to hit the inside of the humidly domes of the clones and seedlings with mist. line them with a fine coating of water that will condense and drop on them over time through out the day. gg growmie from escondido, would love to visit u some time.

Sometimes I use center as a long distance shower. At 8-12 feet it hits similar to shower from say 3 feet, which is great for getting the back of long beds when being lazy.
Mist can keep my 3 year old occupied for a while on a hot day without him messing up the garden 😀

That’s what I used to do for my nephew when I watched him in the summer. I let him play with the hose for hours…he loved it! Who needs a pool! 😁

Yes! I use "Center" to rehydrate my compost heap. The force of the needle jets cuts into to hydrophobic crust into the slightly damper layer below. Shower just runs off.

That's amazing, we should have featured that on our composting video!
I like the jet setting for cleaning out bird baths. The water pressure is strong enough to push out all the water and give it a nice scrubbing. Then I use the stream setting to refill it. No brushes or chemicals required for a squeaky clean bird bath.

Exact same here! Blast all the leaves and feathers out then a gentle refill 🐦
I've had a Spring and Summer filled with illness. As a result, I get very weak and have to depend on my bench seat to water. I find the Flat and Full allow me to get the water into the pots from my chair.

I use center for that, too. Hope you feel better. 🌼 🌸 🌻
I use flat when I'm transplanting from soil to hydroponics. It causes fairly minimum damage to healthy roots and cleans the soil/perlite out of the roots very nicely with minimum effort. Haven't lost a plant yet.
"Full" is always the setting I use to get rid of backup pressure after I've turned my hose off. Especially if you have an expanding hose, full collapses it the quickest.
What about "cone"? I'll tell ya. It's great for watering little upright seedlings without pummeling them. Works great on things in 3inch square pots and 1 gal pots.
Cone (not in vid) is a setting I never used until I accidentally found it to be perfect for pushing bubbles down when filling up a big box bucket with fertilizer or car wash soap and water. Shower always made more bubbles and splashed back, and mist took too long.
Carrot seeding tip. Mix the seeds with some sand so that when you disperse them into a row, you're able to spread them out much easier, rather than having clumps of seeds falling out of the pouch.

We've always mixed it with something with wheat flour, as we always have some in the house. Not sure how it compares to sand tho
Center is also great for filling watering cans, doesn’t spray out of the can like shower does

Yes, we agree!
So I forgot which video, but earlier this year you had mentioned the center setting. Well, I have been using it all season, and love the deep watering and soil hydrating properties! It’s a great tool! Thanks for these other suggestions!

You bet!
When I ( attempt ) to grow summer lettuce under a shade cloth, after watering I use the mist spray just to add some coolness to the lettuce leaves. I helps a little.
My sprayer also has “Soaker” which is great for watering trees for a long time.

I probably use Soaker or Shower the most, I couldn't use a nozzle without it
Thanks Kevin! Love to read all the comments and what settings everyone is using!
My biggest gardening achievement-I have no hose, no spout, and a teeny patio. I've got a big bucket specifically for filling up in the bathtub and lugging out to the garden! Makes me feel committed, that's for sure :) As the garden grows, I've needed a bigger bucket. I've gotten to the point I still need multiple trips 😅 I'll have a better garden area one day 🥰🌱
Another pro tip for the flat setting: It can clear out under your fingernails incredibly well!
For mist-- one summer, we had an inflatable pool set up and when us kids were done, dad went and set up the hose to keep spraying mist and he went and took a nap in the pool after drinking some beer 😂
Great for washing your vehicle, don’t have to run to turn faucet off/on. Also great for water fights! Start out on mist, let your opponent get close the hit the jet setting! 😂

Jet is also my favorite to clean "gardener's fingernails". Just point it under there and give them a few blasts. :)
The "center" tip was awesome! Will be using that when amending my summer beds soon! You are the real MVP!
Great ideas although here in Contra Costa County we don’t use water for spray cleaning outdoor surfaces. I know the situation is different in San Diego
Leaning and having FUN too! 🙏🏻😂🤣🥰
SInce I was a kid I wondered what could you do with all the different settings, now I'm about to buy one of these to give it a good use in my garden 😁🤗 Yay!
I just used vertical to spray off the aphids and ants on some of my garden plants and it worked great!
Love mist setting on a hot day!
I appreciated your video about all those exotic nossle settings. Yesterday I prepped a Birdie’s bed for fall tomatoes after harvesting garlic and shallots last month. It was bone dry and your tip on using the center setting to force water into the bedding material was spot on. Today I made a planter mix with peat moss and once again the cone setting came to the rescue. Now I’m enjoying the mist setting to cool off as the temp edges into the 90s at 11 in the morning.
Something I didn’t know I needed
I love the dramatic shots.
I like jet for far away watering when I don’t feel like dragging the hose.

Me too!
I use full and jet to fill my watering can!! The hose can't reach the very furthest corner of my garden, so I use a watering can. I used to have to unplug the hose from the faucet, then stand there awkwardly holding the watering can and fill it up from the faucet. It was a light bulb-moment for me when I realised I don't have to detach and re-attach my hose all the time. I can just use the "slim" water setting like full or jet, to fill my watering can. Much easier and I can leave it on the ground while filling instead of trying to hold it up under my outdoor water faucet!
Cultivated that like button for Kevin and his team You guys are amazing💛🌾🌱
Jet is perfect for cleaning out bird baths. If you don’t clean them out regularly it spreads diseases amongst birds, but with Jet no slime to scrub off! Easy!
Wasn’t sure there’d be a gem in this video, but the hose was on Center for most of the day today; great balance of soak and soil breakup. Thanks again Kevin!
I can't believe I just watched a 7 minute video about the settings on a hose nozzle lol. You make it more interesting than one may think.
I use the jet quite often to water plants at a distance like some 15-20 feet away. I wiggle the hose so it’s not a direct stream. Works well when I don’t feel like filling up watering cans. I’m tempted to put a rain barrel out there which would be easier to use and I can fill up the barrel from a distance.
I didn't know how badly I needed this video
i recently got one of these hose heads its so useful and it made my life so much easier. i used to rely on buckets of water but not anymore
Yes, but can these type of nozzles last more than one year? They always seem to fail and leak badly around the “barrel” or switching part.

I've had mine for years; it has a long handle.
Thank you for this! Now I know which setting is used for👍
Something I’ve always wondered about. Love this so much!
"Center" was the one I simply couldn't figure out a use for until now. Thanks!
I've found different companies have different nozzle settings which was a surprise - always just assumed they were all the same. I like cone for getting dehydrated soil hydrated quickly, and for watering most plants in the ground. Shower feels too slow of an output for watering much, but I'll use it at half-strength or less on seedlings that are a couple inches tall. I also use flat if I'm in the wrong row and forgot to water something in the next row over - it prevents me from wasting at much water in the walkway! 🤣

@@hoselink I believe it! At least you can rest easy that as long as you have a gentle, hard, straight, and diffuse setting (or 2!) people will find a way to use what you give them!
I like to use the jet setting to water the plants across my driveway when I'm too lazy to drag the hose over there. Which is >99% of the time lol. From that distance, it's pretty diffuse so it's not powerwashing them but it does takes longer. Other than that, I'm a shower/soak/jet setting (lol) lazy gardener Glad you showed some uses for the other settings though. Never felt like the other settings were very useful over shower/soak/jet but now may have to rethink that 🤔
Loved this video. Very informative. Loved the cutscenes when Kevin says the setting names.
Excellent information! Thanks for the demos!
Your garden pop-ups are epic!
Wow!!! Thank you for this video and info!!! I’ve wondered about those settings!!!
That was some pretty intense music for nozzle settings! 😆
Great content. I always flip through the settings never remembering which is which :)

That coop is legit gorgeous. Is that a Carolina Coop? Those are some lucky chickens.
Awesome! I love your videos, thank you for your job!!!
Thanks for the ideas! This was fun🙃
Epic editing on this vid! Hope to see more fun things like this in the future.
I use the flat setting to water an area that is in a tall raised bed, up against a wooden fence and a little too far out of my reach to use shower. (I need to get up there and lay irrigation but have not had time to do it yet.) Also I have a couple of hanging baskets high up and next to the same fence. It works well to water 2 baskets at the same time!! Mist is good for my cymbidiums and bromeliads in the summer. They need a little cooling off, but not really watered.
This is a video i did not know i needed ! great job
Awesome video.... Love this and all your videos... You're one of the best!!! Thank you
Very informative, thanks for sharing i need it right now💕
Center, I need that in Phoenix! Thank you!!
Why did this video notification excite me so much
Just stopping in to say hello! ✌️💚
Great video! Thank you
I def use jet on the weeds in my driveway. But also I used it to spray clean the windows on my house that I can't easily reach (even with a ladder, my yard is sloped, so its hard to get a ladder securely set up to reach the windows). It's not a perfect clean but it does blast bird dirty off prett well.
I also use flat for cleaning trays, but the main use i found for it is watering a row or hedge of plants, you just stand 1-2m away from the hedge depending on what radius you want, and can water a hedge thats 3-4m wide without having to go and shower each plant 😁, i love my flex garden hose with multi nozzle attachment, best gardening bucks i ever invested.
The yard I've been working in frequently has water pressure issues, so "flat" is my "shower" because otherwise it doesn't reach enough
Thank you! Went out and was able to re-hydrate my beds at a faster rate with this knowledge.
Mist is useful for watering my palm tree leaves in summer days.
Thank you
Flat can be used w/ a hose attachment for applying liquids such as weed & feed to lawns.
I was actually hoping you could give us some tips on why some holes spray better than other and why some stream go wayward.
Huh.. info I didn't know I needed 😂. Thanks!
I use mist on my tropicals and citrus. Good video
Good ideas and video 💯👍
I loved your garden tour. Just beautiful. The girls are pretty darned cute.
Immediately thought of all the key and Peele football skits with this editing. This was a video I never knew I needed, thank you!
Very informative

Alternative uses for center/full/jet: youre lazy and you wanna sit in the shade and water at a distance. But in all seriousness i use center alot because of the penetration factor, mist I will use to prop my hose up on something and let it sit there for 10 minutes like its a misty rainy day for my plants Jet or full are great for trees, blast the water down into the roots Shower is good for grassy stuff or doing the same thing with mist
I mainly use shower but just discovered cone. Cone is great when i need a high water output but its not disruptive like full or jet. I have to use it close to the soil because it will spray out too far it used too high up.
On my nozzle I have "soaker" it's my favorite
I've got bucket filler and soaker. Use these for filling water cans and watering my greenstalk
Congrats, you made a whole video out of the most mundane thing 👍
Thank you. Ive just been using them to play with the dog lol
"Flat" almost waters my whole raised bed from edge to edge.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Did not know the purpose of some of them. Besides a sprinkler what is your favourite attachment for watering a lawn. Thanks!

How do you use the Angle setting?
Shower and Jet. Entertainment for the local resident Labrador who thinks watering the garden includes her.
I use center like shower but further away when I am too lazy to move the hose....
Jet is the one that gives the furthest reach in a water fight.
oscar for editing goes to.....
Haaaa...You're hysterical. Epic hens!!! Anyway this is really a good vid. I always wondered what those other settings could possibly be used for. Except for mist and the most popular which I already forgot its name. Lol. Really great vid. Thanks. Stay cool and keep misting your face. 🤗🌞🥒🌻🍅
I Use center a lot because you can water the base of plants from a distance with the accuracy of a jet but as gentle as a shower. From my hose head anyways
Please help, I'm going into gardening as a Virginia, watch almost every one of ur videos as long as others as well, in zones, what is the difference between zones, concerning a and b, what's the planting difference between them?
This is great! I always wondered what they were for. I’m excited to see you recommend the hose link! Although, I don’t think your code is working :(
I'm surprised you didn't mention filling watering cans with the full setting. That's the main reason I use it in my garden.
