This did work for me. I did buy this exact unit on Amazon, I followed the instructions as the video says (although I didn't plug it into TV from the splitter, because I just let it stream right into my computer) and it's working perfectly for me. I also stream on a iMac, if that helps anyone as well. Thanks so much for the post.

It's pretty much the same as the video, the only difference is the pro and the 's' version have instant game capture so you don't need to use the 'out' port unless you want to play on a different monitor or TV than what your computer is already connected to. My set up is basically PS3 > HDMI SPLITTER > HD60 PRO and that's it, I didn't even need to touch the HDMI for my monitor since it already had one going into the computer.

05/26/20 ATTENTION: TO THOSE WHO ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE AUDIO. I have found a video that explains how to correct this! The channel is Metatron and all you have to do is hold the power on a few times and it will change the audio settings to work with the HDMI!

@@PapaSnake Meaning hold the button for a few seconds, let go. Hold it and let go. A few times, it should pop up an audio setting that will switch to HDMI.

Thanks much for this. Believe him with what he said about that specific splitter folks. I tried a Radio Shack $40 model before this one, I got bubkiss. This one worked the 1st time. The only issues I had were with Twitch itself, the quality didn't appear as crisp as it did on the Elgato screen.

A straight forward, not recorded by someone shaking the camera around and saying ummmm errrrmmmm every two seconds...I mean props to anyone trying to help by uploading guides but it makes life so much less stressful when they make a guide like you have!

I don't have elgato I got some other brand but your tutorial helped me thanks buddy

I just bought this and the HD 60 s I hope this still works!

Also i suggest changing the input or output in elgato software to Xbox 360 if last gen recording as it should want to output at 60fps over hdmi. That was one issue PS3 had was it wouldnt allow recording nor transfer of 60fps.

Great video, but how do I get the audio to come out to headphones, but still also have sound going to the stream? With modern console this is achieved via chat link and the controllers having headphone jacks in them, but I don't know how to achieve this on a ps3.

Has anyone else experienced no audio using this? Even when using an HDMI for audio output, I still experience no sound when looking back at recorded gameplay. Let me know! Big ups to you chopper 4 years later geez i had the splitter but couldnt make it work lmao

I got this splitter and it worked, but it only showed on my computer screen, not my monitor. Also, on my monitor, it had a square screen with white interference or something like that. So, I reset the settings on the PS3 and that didn't work, it just made the screen black. So I thought, It looks like the rooting single is just going into a half circle, the single isn't complete. So, I grabbed the HDMI cord that was connected to the monitor and one of the HDMI Output from the Splitter and connected it to the out of the HD60, and it work! I hope that helps people. I have a similar problem. I'm gonna try again tonight. But mine will show up on the software just fine. And then when I open a game i get a white screen with static interference. But when I switch to my tv the game is running fine.

Hi, I hope you're able to still answer this. I've followed all of the instructions but it is not working for me. Maybe I have a bad HDMI or something but I'm hoping I'm just missing something. I don't understand how you do this without using the Output portion of the Elgato capture card. That's how I usually connect my consoles to display, both the input and the output of the capture card. But according to these instructions it only talks about the input, leaving the output empty?

the output of your Capture card goes into your PC obviously cuz how els does your PC recieve the images to send to OBS or what other software you use to capture it

@@PatrickDJGaming that actually happens via usb not hdmi. The hdmi out is for a secondary output like a hdtv.

So I bought this same splitter set up the wires the same way. When I'm on my dashboard it works perfectly. Signal comes through and everything. As soon as I start a game I get a white screen with static interference. And it gets stuck there. But when I switch inputs to my tv the game is playing fine. Okay so first this works Although you may run into some problems (not related to this video) (also I’m using a laptop) 1. Low bandwidth: your pc/lab top may not be powerful enough to broadcast properly and you may need to adjust settings or your laptop/pc 2. (Please note I’m using a dell gaming laptop) so you will be able to stream for a few minutes then your power will randomly shut off. This may happen for a variety of reasons like, overheating or windows 10 issues. If anyone knows ways to work around these issues please let everyone here know.

This does not seem to work with my setup. I plugged the PS3 into the splitter's input, output 1 into the TV and output 2 into the Elgato like in the video, but the light indicating a signal is being sent to to output 2 only turns on briefly before shutting back off.

It allows me to record audio on the PS3 menu but once I open any game the Elgato lose signal and reopens and when it reopens the video is fine but the audio is gone. However, the audio is still there for the tv.

That's si.ilar to the problem I have. It captures my dashboard fine. However as soon as I open a game. I get this white static screen.

Hey man maybe you can help me out here. I've had one of these for about 5 years now. But last night we had a power outage and i think it may have screwed my splitter up because the two front lights do not turn on anymore and neither does the back light for all of the HDMI cables hooked up. Just wondering if you know of a fix for this ?

I got it, I set it up and it works, but when I try to record my gameplay it keep freezing, I have a razer game capture card.

The Amazon listing states "HDCP COMPLIANT - WILL NOT BYPASS HDCP SIGNAL" so I haven't bought it yet, but I'm reading others are having issues in the comments. So how is yours working?

I have same model of both devices and it’s not working on my side. I guess you have to be lucky enough to win at the grand “Who gets a faulty splitter that surprisingly act also as a HDCP stripper” lottery... I wish there would be a way to make sure to get the “good” model.
