    Thanks for the great tutorial. For anyone that can't seem to get the entire application to fit in the full screen (and the desktop wallpaper is showing off to the sides), do this: Start a new blank scene. Add the screen share overlay (follow all of Marshalls instructions regarding play in window) and you can now resize the screen share to fill your screen.

    This is great! One extra feature/benefit of using Keynote is that if you are like me and have a lot of speaker notes in your presentation, you can use your iPhone and the remote feature in Keynote to advance each slide. You need to have the keynote already presented in a window. Otherwise, as you pointed out, the remote will default to the typical presentation mode and take up all your screen real estate. Here is the cool part: your iPhone's Keynote app (in remote function) will show you any speaker notes when you have them! This makes it easy to stay on track as you give your presentation. Another bonus of using the phone is it is noiseless, unlike using a keyboard or a mouse.

    Hi, I tried this and there's some space between the keynote slides and the edge of the screen. Like there's a border but it's clear and I can see my desktop background. I have it clicked on "zoom to app windows". There's a + and - button and by clicking it I can zoom in but is this happeneing because my aspect ratio is not matching?

  • @EcammLive

    Your window ratio may be a little off. I usually share the window then do minor adjustments on it to make sure it fits properly. #BradleyTeaches

  • @EcammLive

    @EcammLive

    Hi Joe, No, I don't think we have any videos showing that, but it's a pretty easy process. If you plug your iPad into your computer, it should show up as a camera source in Ecamm Live and then you can use the camera overlays feature to set up the split screen.

    That method will not work for me. I need slides that I use for the church assembly with access to my notes on the slides. Another question. I don't seem to have enough independent monitor locations. In Keynote if I figured out a way to run two ghosts monitors one on HDMI and another on USB-C, How do I Tell the slide show to go to the one on HDMI and the notes to go to the one on USB Still allowing me to have Ecamm on primary monitor. Write now my Keynote slide notes are on primary and slde show is on the secondary. I have not place to see for a "confidence" feed or see what is cued up next ready for "over the air"? Trying to come up with a better work flow for a combination producer / talent(?) arrangement. At the TV station we had about 5 different people doing all of this. I just have me.

    How do you get control of the keynote presentation while you are in ecamm?

  • @EcammLive

    @EcammLive

    In this case, you'd need to have both Keynote and Ecamm open so you can toggle through the slides in Keynote.

    So you would be controlling keynote from keynote itself ? Not from ecamm right?

  • @EcammLive

    Correct. Unless you downloaded the Keynote as a PDF and added it to Ecamm that way. Then you could click through the pages like slides. You wouldn't get any Keynote animations though that way.@@BnDTV

    This was fantastic. me (the 71 yo student) was finally ready for this episode, as I know I need to let go of Powerpoint and learn the basics of Keynote, to use it for my Ecamm presentations. Can I ask a simple question? I use a green screen and want to create a simple grey virtual background but where it looks slightly lighter in the middle behind me. How would I create that gradient from lighter in the middle to darker n all sides. I'm trying to replicate how I would look if I had a spotlight on me. Any help appreciated.

    Awesome video. Are we able to record the video and then overlay it on a keynote presentation after? Here's our use case: We want to record our course instructor delivering the content. Then have a member of our team create the slides after the fast that highlight what the instructor is speaking to. This speeds up our video creation process because we don't have to create the keynote in advance of filming. We can do that post-production. Is this possible? Thanks!

  • @EcammLive

    Hi Alexis, Absolutely. You can use Ecamm as your recording studio and then take the videos you record and embed them into a Keynote presentation. Whatever works best for you :)

    Very cool tips. Thanks a lot! My problem is that when I show the Keynote presentation, the corners are actually rounded even in Ecamm. Like the Keynote window. That doesn't look that good in recordings. In this video it's working in full frame. Any ideas how to fix it or which settings are necessary? Many thanks in advance!

    How are you bringing the Keynote presentation into Ecamm? If it's a screenshare overlay, then you can actually choose whether or not you want rounded corners or a border around the overlay.

    Shalom Marshall! I tried following the steps provided. However, after creating a new scene, then choosing source, then choosing current application, and KeyNote is not an option. I'm on macOS 12.6.6, Keynote 13.0 on MacBook Pro 2015. Any insight on why KeyNote doesn't display as an option? Thanks I figured it out ECamm and Keynote had to be on the SAME screen for screen share to work. Shalom

    Question. I am trying to in my scene have an overlay with a hole made for my camera shot on the left then keynote run in its on window on the right. Probelm get this set up when I hit record. I losse the Keynote all together. I have my camera showing and the hole where the Keynote is suppose to be. Help. My Keynote presentations are made up for the congregation already. Not enough time to rework them like you did. There are 40 slides in each presentation, yikes.

    One minor frustration: I select Source > Share Screen, then Show > Keynote. But my keynote window still does not fill the entire preview window in eCamm. I can still see my desktop background around the edges. And I've selected Play > In Window.

    Aloha Brent this is normal because the Mac 🖥️ display is not a true 16:9 and presentations tend to be. Hold the option key and crop in the sides of the screen share overlay. Macs are 16:10 to support the menu bar and the dock. See this or pretty much and demo from my Fridays and I show how. Jump to 57:57 in this one kzread.infoi7A1nj5n9Ek?si=X9QLnc0xoTsyeCrw

    In Preferences under Screen Sharing, make sure "Add Margin When Zooming to an App or Window" is unchecked. You can also hit the + button on the right side of that overlay where you select which application to share and where you check "Zoom App to Windows".
