Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Occasionally, we create videos targeting those new to construction or who may be starting out in the trades. If you never adjust your drill's clutch settings, we provide a few tips on how to do it right-and also why it may be in your best interest to learn how to do this properly.

I am a raw beginner at 64 years old. :) I just picked up my first drill with a clutch, googled for help, and found this video. Excellent tutorial. Thank you for going slow enough for dummies like me to understand. Cheers!!!

Drill- Packedge in typical box, came with a tool bag (added bonus), two batteries, one charger, drill, and driver. Two words "plenty of Torque" kzread.infoUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv well I guess that's three. Nice upgrade from current setup. Has belt clips, I don't think I will be using those. Driver and drill were bigger than what I expected but it is an upgrade from the current setup. For the money I would say that this is a great setup for Professionals and DIY/Weekend warriors.

To simplify the demonstration on the video, it means the lower the clutch setting, the lower torque it delivers.

I'm still not sure. So "lower" means a lower NUMBER on the clutch? So setting number 1 is "lower" than setting number 24 and thus has lower torque?

Please coud you tell me if there is a way to find out the exact torque values for these settings, in inch/lbs? I would like to know because i was going to buy a small torque wrench for a bicycle - but if i can use my cordless screwdriver clutch settings instead i don't need one. Thanks

So how much torque is with hammer/drill setting? Is it the max? So in the drill in the video, would using the drill setting have a torque of 24?

Thank you for this video. You set the clutch to 12 to put the first screw in. It didn't go in enough so you "changed the clutch a setting or two. !. Did you change the clutch 1 or 2 notches? 2.Changed the clutch to WHAT setting? My PT deck boards are popping up because the incompetent idiot who built the deck used 1.5" screws AND the board barely touches the joist underneath. I've tried 3 different screw extractors and none worked. I need to set my drill for the most torque. Does clutch position 1 have the most torque, or 17 (my clutch positions range from 1-17 plus the drill position)? Thanks!!

@@Protoolreviews , please be more specific. From 12 did you move two notches to 10 or 14? As a non-handyman I'm clueless as to which setting is best for long screws into thick wood. Would it setting one or the highest setting please? Likewise, you needed more torque in your example when on setting 12, so did you move to 10 or 14. Thank you in advance.

I think using clutch will break down your cordless drill faster because of the clutch slip. Better dont use it, just rely on drilling mode

I have a different take on the clutches on drills. I don't think people use drills for driving fasteners anymore. In my opinion, they should just eliminate them. I think they just add just add size an weight to the drill. I can use my impact and sink screws flush every time.

I also disagree, drills have always been the more precise tool because of the control you have with the clutch. In a construction environment it might not be useful anymore but in other fields drills are the preferred tool
