How To Use Diminished Chords In Gospel Progressions

How To Use Diminished Chords In Gospel Progressions.
Summary:
In this piano lesson, I delve into the world of diminished chords, explaining their structure and how to use them effectively in music. I start by defining a diminished chord as one where the intervals are condensed, making the chord smaller, and proceed to demonstrate how to form these chords by lowering specific notes in a major chord or stacking minor thirds. I also highlight their natural occurrence in major and minor scales and introduce the concepts of fully diminished and half-diminished (minor 7 flat 5) seventh chords. Through examples, I show how these chords can function as passing chords or in 2-5-1 progressions, enriching musical transitions and resolutions. My aim is to demystify diminished chords and show their versatility and beauty in music composition and performance.

But now I'm incorporating these chords more and more in my playing and hearing them used in music I'm listening to. It may feel like you're never gonna get it but keep practicing and you'll have it before you know it. Thanks Warren. God bless.

@@thomaspick4123 I would agree with you, if I thought the dislikes were unwarranted. Now, I am not saying they are deserved, just not unwarranted. I don't see anyone disliking simply because they don't like the guy, or something idiotic such as that. Sometimes, someone might dislike the tutorial, it maybe wasn't as good as they expected, there are honestly many things that could cause someone to dislike a video and being unable to take the criticism that comes along with that is shameful. I wan't you to take a look at the counter for dislikes and likes. Currently there are 17 dislikes to at least 1,000 likes. meaning less than 2% of people who have actually bothered to rate it decided to dislike it. Also if you want to make the argument that "people disliking the video causes it to be noticed less" no, it doesn't. KZread's suggestion software (supposedly) doesn't include likes or dislikes in it's equations. It focuses more on tags, view time, views, and a few other factors. Dislikes aren't a bad thing and shouldn't be discouraged, but also not encouraged.

Hi Warren! I must say this is is a very nice video. Helped me very much on understanding the concept and how to use it in my playing. I'm especially staggered by how you weight the content of the video. It isn't overwhelming, but it isn't too simple. I'll have a look at your other tutorials.
