Any noob looking at this, when you're duplicating a shape key with "new shape from mix" turn off any other shape keys that are on that aren't the one you want duplicated, they'll get mixed with the duplicate; to do that with drivers click the check mark. Took me a few minutes to figure out why that didn't work.

Great tutorial. Thought I had it but running into issue. I see the shape key driver making the mesh shape changes in Edit mode only? Not in Object mode. Any thoughts are appreciated. UPDATE: Have solved the issue. Changed type to Y Rotation rather than Y Location. As my use-case was the side of torso bulging when the arm was lifted directly out to the side of the body. Thx again, great help. Especially including the mirroring to the other side of the body. .

The first time I use nonlinear animation. In one nial track there are two actions: walking and sitting on the couch. I add the other action above sitting on the couch. However even if I didn't add it(then you see the "action and keys"), the character goes to another location or flies in the air which I don't want. When I select the action "cup holding" and I go to edit mode, I see that the pivot point is where the cup stands. When I change the settings, for example: extrapolation to nothing and blending to add or replace, it still does the same thing. Is there another solution? That I haven't tried. Update: I don't know what I did. Deleted an action and everything was normal again. I think

its good content to learn. but what u doing at 2:30 object mode to edit. here when i do the same my model go to rest position. can you please enlighten me ?

To fix this, go to the modifier properties, look for your armature modifier and make sure it's edit mode button is activated. The icon looks like four squares connected with a line. Click on this icon to make it active (It should have a blue highlight to show it's active). hope this helps.

Problem is when I go the Edit mode my mesh returns to normal - in the video the eye stays in blinked position but on mine it returns to normal unblinked pose......

Click on the edit mode icon on the top right corner of the Amateur modify to activate amateur deformation in edit mode.
