How To: Use Bobby Pins

This video shows how to easily use bobby pins.
It has been requested many times by our subscribers.
Using the proper bobby pins is the foundation of any good hairstyle. We get our bobby pins at a Sally's Beauty Supply Store. They are great and last use after use, compared to conventional Drug store bobby pins. In this video I show you a few methods on how to use bobby pins! :)

Hi Mimi i just wanted ti say that I observed that you insert the bobby pin in with the wavy part up... My advice is to put them with the wavy part down because that's specially formed to grip your hair and pin it in place. Ps: Love your videos!😘

I always have problems with bobby pins too. I keep wondering if they were only made for a certain hair length. My hair is almost 1 meter / 40 inches long and whenever I see a tutorial I'm like... Yeah, nice, but my messy bun is so heavy it will just fall off my head, no matter how many bobby pins I put in there.

In the UK Boots own brand bobby pins are excellent. They come in black, brunette, red, blonde and platinum. Large, medium and short lengths. I think the larger branches stock more and sometime they have more or less stock depending on time of year and hair fashion. I've had mine for years and they are still tight, usable and most importantly, comfortable and secure. :-)

I like a drugstore brand called Scünci. Not bad, they can "open" if you make them hold too much hair, like a top knot bun. They come in a very practical little acrylic box :).
