Love your videos, very helpful on my 2018 Grand Sport. I will be trying apple car play with Google maps on an upcoming road trip. How does it work with music and google maps together on a long trip?

Hi Dennis, I’m so sorry I never saw your question! If you haven’t already tried it, music and maps works really well together. I tend to use a music app and maps (Waze usually for me) at the same time and music as well as guidance seem to function cohesively. And surprisingly, even the radio and Apple CarPlay audio (from navigation) can function at the same time which is convenient so you don’t have to keep switching back and forth. Hope you had a fun trip!

Why would a 2016 Corvette Stingray 3lt CarPlay not work?

Only thing I’m not a fan of is having to connect it. Why can’t Bluetooth solve for this?

@@kerrylittle3900 Hmmm, have you conformed that the SD card is formatted as "FAT32"? I'm not sure how knowledgeable you are with computers etc., but if you put the SD card in your computer, you can go into it's properties and change the formatting so that the Corvette can read and record to the card. :)

@@1Brain4Wheels I was wondering that. I just formatted it on my Canon camera to try it out. I own all Apple products so familiar with FAT32. I'll give that a try next. Thanks.

Hi Richard, unfortunately CarPlay only works with the phone physically connected (via USB cord) to the infotainment system.

That’s a great question, I forgot to cover that but it will alert you that you got a text and then you have the option to have it speak it out loud to you and then you can voice to text back as well. It’s all designed to keep your eyes off the screen, and it works pretty well!

No. It’s available in 2016 and newer. It can not be installed on 2014 or 2015, unless you look into aftermarket options.

@@1Brain4Wheels not worth for me. That’s a solid down payment on a newer model. I traded in my mustang for the ‘15 C7 because I got an amazing deal. C7’s truly are one of the best bang for your buck.

Hmmm, does it show that “projection” icon at all, or does it just not show it as “Apple CarPlay”? It should always have the projection icon available, but if it’s not ever shifting over to CarPlay it’s likely a bad cable connection with your phone.

It doesn’t have the app at all not sure why even though it is a 2016

So lame that 2015 models can’t be updated it literally has apps and a desktop like wtfbbq
