i just started epilating 3 months ago very course thick dark hair, now grows in slower and super fine and so easy to pluck i don’t even feel the pain anymore i love it. im shocked i got these results in only a short time! im so grateful for them too because i am one of those people who got stubble 24 hours after shaving. now i don’t even have to worry about that. i also got nasty ingrowns on my bikini line with shaving but with epilating not a single ingrown i’m so happy about that no more nasty scars, the only thing i can’t do is the armpits they hurt so much i’m working up to them. i feel no pain on my bikini line but my armpits are like hell it’s so weird lol

I have an extremely high pain tolerance and I’m a man who loves to be hair-free, so when I heard of the epilator, I bought one right away. I decided to just try it on my arms to see how I would react. It worked beautifully although my follicles were very red, swollen, and angry shortly after I finished. It was a bit frightening, but the irritation was pretty much gone by the next day and my skin looked so flawless and smooth. It wasn’t until about 2 weeks after that I noticed how many ingrown hairs I had, which seemed to pop up overnight. My arms literally looked like a pizza. I tried exfoliating gloves to help, but that irritated everything more. If you can believe it, 1 year later and I’m still dealing with the hyperpigmentation from all the ingrown hairs. My dermatologist prescribed tretinoin to get my arms back to the way they were prior to epilating. I’m on my third week using the stuff, so there’s no real results just yet. I don’t know what I did wrong to get so many ingrown hairs.

What a horrible experience! You didn't do anything wrong - I think unfortunately certain hair and skin types must be more prone to getting ingrown hairs. Sounds like epilation is not for you. When I use the device I use a pumice stone every day in the shower while the hairs are growing back to avoid ingrowns.

Honest Content It has been a nightmare. :( I wore long-sleeve shirts all last summer because I was so self-conscious of my spotty red arms. I live in southern Ontario, so the heat and humidity in the summer is unbearable at times, reaching upwards of 40 C. I pretty much stayed indoors in air conditioning for the majority of the season. I’m hoping this gel my dermatologist prescribed will bring everything back to normal by this summer. Thanks so much for replying.

N g If you’re prone to ingrown hairs after shaving, I strongly wouldn’t recommend epilating. I used the Braun Epil 7. You will regret it. Trust me. My ingrown hairs took many months to heal. Now, I’m dealing with the hyperpigmentation. My arms still look quite spotty. The tretinoin gel my dermatologist prescribed is helping though. I’ve been using it for almost 3 weeks now, but full results won’t be seen until 12 weeks. However, I decided to take a break from using it for the weekend because I am experiencing a lot of redness and irritation, which is a common side effect. I will be returning to it on Monday once my skin calms down a little bit.

Hi again. I posted a comment approximately 10 months ago, and today I finally epilated my legs for the first time. I had been so frightened to actually use it, hence my epilator had remained unused for months, and all I can say is Wow, it is completely phenomenal! I have a lot to learn about the epilating process, but for a first attempt my legs are very smooth, and I am 100% confident that I will get better with time. Thank you so much for your demonstration, as it was key to me taking the plunge 😊

Well done for taking the plunge! I have since used an IPL device on my legs (did a few videos on it) which has greatly reduced the hair on my legs. It means any epilating now would be really minimal and pretty painless. Epilating gives a great result- just be careful to exfoliate you legs as your hairs come back in to avoid ingrowns. : )

I started epilating about a month ago. I had very thick dark hair on my legs, and the hair density was also pretty dense, but now it's way thinner and the hair density is way lower. Absolutely love the results of it. Though, I have 3 problems: the first would be ingrown hair (that's why I clicked on the video); the second is, that my pain tolerance is pretty low, and it just hurt so badly; the third is, that it just takes a lot of time to epilate, at least that's the case for me, having such a low pain tolerance definitely makes me take more time to epilate, while on the other hand I only finished epilating my entire body once (excluding private area and armpits), which gives me the hope that with the lower hair density I will be faster next time. I certainly prefer it over shaving, the results are just better. When I shaved I would get stubbles after a day and with epilating that's just not the case.

I currently shave my legs every 5 or so days, as silky smooth legs are possibly the best feeling in the world and really help me feel more further attuned with my femininity . Thanks to your excellent video, I am definitely going to give one a try though 😊

The corded epilators are better than cordless because it lasts a lot longer. I also tried using products like lidocaine on the area to numb it before using the product. I think I will try to use epilator to remove the hair in that area and slow down the hair growth in the process. WORTH A TRY! Edit: After researching on IPL hair removal as well, it seems like IPL can also be something that I can use for removing facial hair (since you can now get affordable IPL device for home use).

I got an epilator. Not sure I’m using it properly. Doesn’t seem to be fully pulling the hairs from the root and does not leave a smooth finish.. it feels as though it is just cutting the hair at the top layer of skin. What am I doing wrong?

Which make is it? I don't think you could be doing anything wrong because you're passing a cluster of tweezers over your skin so if they're not picking up the hairs then there's something wrong with the product. I would complain and send it back if I were you.

@@mrs.samiabass3197 hi! try exfoliating the area very well the day before or at least 3-5 hours before same day with an exfoliating face wash OR body scrub OR dry brush on all areas you will be epilating. also, make sure your body is completely dry with no lotion or anything and you you could make sure of that by applying some kind of powder to the area (not too heavily just enough to soak up any residual liquid). make sure before and after each leg or body part rinse out the epilator head so it doesnt get clogged and stays sharp. epilate in the opposite direction of hair growth. keep the epilator at a 90° angle. lightly exfoliate a day or two later and when youre done make sure you moisturize but i would wait a few minutes so it doesn't burn too much. like she said its best to use this regularly as well as doing all of the other steps for the best result. hope this helps!
