In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzread.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

I'm learning a 7-ti2. Mine came with the boat without the transducer. I bought a cheaper HD transducer that works but doesn't support sidescan. Are the fish symbols accurate? There are several, "How to," videos for this model but none really cover identifying objects with the different scans. I've been fishing for years and never used a fish finder. Would you do a video on identifying fish and objects? I think it would help a lot of greenhorns like myself who are new to the sonar game. Thank you. I just subscribed.

The TM150 should auto I'd once its connected as long as it has the black 9 pin connector hard wired and not the blue 7 pin with a 9 pin adaptor. Tho there is just something about those 150s that sometimes just dont want to auto ID. If it doesnt you should be able to manually select medium chirp from the list. Also if those depths, I'd recommend General Use cuz it's designed for up to 1000 ft in coastal waters. The TM150 is probably one of the best xdcrs for those conditions.

There is not a cast ring feature, however there are range rings that you can turn on so you might be able to make that work, tho you cant manually adjust the distance of the rings. They auto adjust depending on your zoom range. There is a north indicator arrow at the top right of the screen. Tho I'm not sure if that's what you are referring to or not.

Ya the Elite TI2 is a good unit. If you only have one graph on the boat, the TI2 will work just fine for whatever you'll need it for. The biggest benefit of having the HDS is its network capabilities. Connecting ethernet between graphs allows you to share pretty much anything between them. But if you only have 1 display then you don't really need that.

@@giannakosfinix It all depends on the type of water that you are in. The AI 3n1 is technically a fresh water transducer and thats where those depths come from that you are seeing. If you are in salt water, it's completely different. And the type of salt water also affects it. So really cold salt water affects it the most. Warmer salt water is closer to fresh water in terms of the signal being affected. For example, the west coast here in the US is cold salt water and you will be lucky to get 100 meters. The gulf of Mexico is warm salt water and can usually read around 200 meters. Fresh water lakes will read around 300 meters. I hope that helps!

Hi, have a question I do not seem to be able to get an answer to anywhere. Noticed that I get 2 different depths when I run 83khz and 200khz and also medium chirp and high chirp! I see, for example, that the bottom is 5 m, but on the plotter it shows about 6 m? If I change from 83 to 200 khz, the plotter can also show 5m. So if I look at 2d and see that the bottom is eg 5 m but on the actual data layer on the display it shows eg 6.5 m? Seems like it shows type 2a reading as when it is hard bottom, and reads it instead. And then it will be completely wrong when you map up maps. Do you have any idea why this is so. Have talked to some friends who also have Lowrance because I thought there was something wrong with my sensor (Ai 3-1) But they had the same problem. Seems like it shows the right depth on data storage as long as you use 200 khz, Regards // Mattias

I guess it depends on which coast u live on. I've seen lots of ppl use it on the East coast and the gulf. However it doesn't work so well on the West coast if you use the transducer that it comes with. You would need a 50/200 transducer for that area in most cases. However even on the East coast, if you want to read deeper that 500-600 ft, you would still need a 50/200. Also the Elite TI2 doesn't broadcast a full 1Kw of power like the HDS which is really needed for anything deeper than 1000 ft. The Elite TI2 only broadcasts at 600 Watts which is fine for shallower water but isn't enuf for deep water.
