    I ditched Lightroom years ago for Camera RAW. Best thing I ever did. Lightroom made me feel like I was in jail. ACR gives me freedom. Love it.

    Hello Rikard As a total Ps newbie, I just want to express my deep appreciation for this amazing tutorial. I purchased a Ps Course ELSEWHERE which was an absolute nightmare from a learning perspective. Thank heavens I discovered your superb tutorial, which is super clear and easy to follow. A huge thanks and thumbs up for your fantastic tutorial. I really like your style, your tempo is not too fast, your explanations are absolutely superb and your Ps screen on the video is sharp and clear. Awesome, a 5 star experience !

    Thanks for the video. I have never used ACR but it looks like it has a few features that LR doesn't that I would like, but not the non destructible feature of LR. I'm sure there is a way around this so I will give it a try.

    In the "workflow" link at the bottom, you can set the file to open in Photoshop as a smart object. With this, you can double click back into camera raw and adjust the settings after you've placed your file in Photoshop. Beyond that though, the feature set between Lightroom's develop module and ACR are the same. It's the same engine with a different skin.

    I am new to ACR, although after editing with it I cannot believe I have not prior. My question is hopefully very simple. When I import a set of photos that are available via the strip, do I lose that entire set if I save my edited photo as an object, go into PS and then return to ACR?

    Can you help. Raw used to have an auto correct which for landscape's I found vey useful . The new raw doesn't have that , any idea what version of RAW had it so I could revert to it. I find the new version of raw too awful for words

    I found the way to do it by right clicking in an ACR panel then choosing "Edit Panels to Show" from the menu options. 😎

    Hi- great tutorial. I have a question. I was told that the reason I don’t have a Basic option is because I have the new version, Photoshop 24. Is there a way to get this Basic option? All of the steps in my Adobe Photoshop in a Book are directing me to use the Basic button.

  • @nuclylearn

    @nuclylearn

    7 ай бұрын

    Hey, that is correct. In the latest version of Photoshop, the sliders were reorganized from a Basic panel into three separate panels for Light, Color and Effects. I would suggest instead of trying to get an earlier version, simply open up all three of these panels (Light, Color, Effects) and treat THAT as your basic panel. It may take an extra few seconds to find the slider you need to adjust but all of them are in there and then you won't have to learn it twice.

    Where can I now find perspective correction (Geometry) adjustments in ACR (latest version for Photoshop 2024)? They removed this feature from the list of adjustments on the right hand side of the page. I use this feature very much as I do quite a bit of architectural photography. I know it must be a simple find, but it's been around a year since I used ACR. Thanks in advance for any answers.

  • @nuclylearn

    Adobe AGAIN changed their UI. The Basic panel has now been replaced by the Light, Color and Effects panels. All the sliders are still there though. New tutorial coming out on the new version of Camera RAW coming out early next year.

    I watched more than half the video only to find out you weren't going to talk about what I'm having trouble with. I can't figure out how to select the source location when using the clone tool. Otherwise nice video.

  • @nuclylearn

    @nuclylearn

    Turn on your overlays with "V" on your keyboard. You will then see an indicator showing the source. You can drag this to a different location of your image. Unlike the clone and stamp tools inside of Photoshop, you can NOT select a source BEFORE. You can only change the source location AFTER. Hope that helps.

    Great tutorial but I have to dispute terminology. Mask is not black and white. Instead there is transparent part that shows layers below the image you want viewers to see. And there is a visible image part that you want viewers to see. You give an excellent example, where a beautiful forest is the bottom layer, and on top of this layer you put an image that is transparent except for the image of a magnificent stag (male deer). So I would suggest saying a mask has two components, [1] a transparent part that reveals images below the mask and [2] a visible image part that conceals (masks/blocks) images below . More verbose than "black and white" but much more accurate description. With important exception: if you want the viewer to partly see through the image on the top layer and see something of the image below, there is a control called "Opacity". When you set Opacity to 100 per cent, you see only the image on top. When you set Opacity below 100 per cent, you partly see the image in the layer below.
