Well done! Good presentation. Mine seems to flash red and blue 10 times then shuts off and that's all it will do! Is it broken? I just got it this morning, charged it up, put in micro SD and now this?! Any ideas?

Hi, thanks so much. Very clear instructions on how to switch on, change modes and record. But I have a question. Charged using the cable connected to the PC for almost 4 hours, but the light is still blue. I took out the charge as the camera was getting hot. Thought I read that the full charge will be shown with both blue and red light. But my light remains blue. How long should I charge for a full charge? Is it ok to remove the charge if light has not turned pink? I have now charged for 2 times, but still the same after 4 hours each time.

hi friend MArc, yes , you are right, supostly wen full charge is done, bouth colors are sowed, (pink means full) , if your unit is not geting that color , mmm,, my be your battery is not in good state?? the time loading i around 45m .i imagine you charge it in off position , no? also try to load it with out the sd card in , and with an usb charger with no more than 1A charging , my be this fix the probelm, a greeting

I connected it to a Fy 41 autopilot for planes. Just the positive wire I put it in an empty slot for servo, to have 5v. The video in of pilot provide 12v. But the cons. is that is showing OSD all time. You can see the battery status, the mode and the date but is interfering with the pilot OSD which is more important.

Can you use Night Vision mode (or switch between 720p, 1080p and photo) while charging with a power-bank? I think not. Looks like motion detection and normal 720p video recording are the only things that work while charging?

good morning btorher The Rc Hunter, for recharge i olwais take the sd card out (becouse if not my one gets really hot) , you know is full charged wen conected to the charger, the led turns pink. (red and blue led at same time) then battery is full. About the Resolution i belive is just becouse of the fps rate, after some test, i belive if the camera is not gona move fro the position it is,, 1080p is fine (if i dont remeber bad is just 10fps) ,, then for static recording, i belive is ok , but with moviment,, better 720P ,, i just record directly in 720, never like how thi record in the other mode. Agretting

Thanks for your mesage Ruudy L, my inglish is not too much good, but i try to doit simple with my words. Really hope also it hepl some one who get this little camera. At end is easy to use.. what you sey about the resolutions is posible (made in xina , ejeej all is posible) , but i dont think it , you will see wen you recive your one. in full hd ir records at 15fps (what may be is ok wen the camera is just in a fix place) , but apart from that think of the fps,, (almost for me) looks like it deform me the video, mm how to explain,, like some years ago , wen you try to watch on movie in panoramic format in a normal TV .. similar efect. THis weekend i will record a little video outside witht the two modes , and we can compare it better. grettings

SongoLand OK 15fps is a bit slow and 720 will be better. 1080 just fore picture. Still for $11 a fun, stick it too anything camera

Hey. Cool review and video manual. I have a question tho - Have you got any clue how long the camera is going to stay in standby mode while in motion detection mode? I've found that when I leave it in detection mode it's on alert for about 60 minutes. But within that 60 minutes only about 12 are recorded so i reckon it's not the end of battery life. They claim it should record non-stop for about 90 minutes. I also have the 32GB card in it so it's not the insufficient space problem. If it's only in standby for 60 minutes than motion detection is rather useless, don't you think?

actually I tried connecting it to a powerbank 2000 mAh and it managed the whole night. There's a different issue - it get's hot and it's not the battery but the chipset.

how long can the battery last in motion detection mode? you get 1hour when fully recording, right? so 1hour max detection time is fine. (which makes lower chunks better, i hear it's 3min, not 5min) so assume i were gonna leave it somewhere "alone" for 24hours. could it wait in detection mode, for about 18hours maybe? then shoot a recording if it saw a something, be it a person, a cat, etc?

hi friend, nop, i never get this time, i just use this camera for record some flights with my drones and some times with my rc cars. Normaly i dont record more than 30 min. The detection moviment i had tryi out just a cupple of time, and works well, but i can not tell you how many time i tan stay like this, sorry, is something you will need to test. 24h with out an external power suply , if is recording ofern i belive will not survive the battery,, but , again , is something you will know wen test it., let us know with your advances in thar. 1080p I can see a very slight purple colour.. 720 p I see normal blue light (led).. 1080p the blue light (led) has a purple tinge.. very good explanation on how to use the camera just only thing I wanna say.. u say 1080 as in 1000 (one thousand) and 80 (eighty) p.. not saying your wrong cuz that could be what it’s called where u live.. but most of as call it 1080p as in 10 (ten) 80 (eighty) p .. just a bit of friendly advice for future videos 🙃

My camera only records in 5 minute increments for 25 minutes on 720p mode, and then it shuts off. Do you know how I can get it to record longer than 25 minutes at a time? I am using a 32 GB micro SD card. Ideally, I would like it to record for one hour continuously on 720p mode.

When I press the On/Off button once to record I see the three flashes, followed by five red and blue flashes and the camera turning off. It never records anything. Any suggestions?

When I first received the product it switched on fine. Then I charged it for 2 hours and then when I switch it on, the blue led lights up for 2 secs then turns magenta..which blinks for 4secs and then finally turns blue again for a fraction of a sec and then turns off. Any idea whats happening?

Thanks to you I go one of this cameras.But I think it has a problem...it only works for about 25minutes maximum and when it is charging the red flashes and when fully charged it red stays on...please tell me if yours works for longer time and how you know when fully charged....I left it to charge for more than 5 hours

hi PeteR ParkeR_, yes this camera divide the clips, , for know the batteri is complety full charged,, what i do is , i take out the memory card, and conect the camera to one usb charger ( iphone one for example) wait until the light is pink (blue and red at same time) then the batery is full load. a greeting

I have this camera, but when I try to record, it records for just maximum 5 min and than stops recording. The battery is complettely charged. If I try to record for a long time, it records the first 5 min and than the last couple of minuts... strange, but it's so... I don't understand.

is stange this, it must record and record,, have you test with a diferent memori card? try one class 10 or if you have all ready a class 10, try to test the card with some program on the pc for test the speed of the card and see if is really working at this recording speed. The SD can be one of the causes,, or may be your camera es just not workling good.,, let us know if you make more test. agreeting

THE SQ 8 is not even shown up. Only in the hardware manager u can find it as unknown usb device (error request device description ) . in computer administration its not shown only my HDDs . no removable usb port . tryed to update drivers of all usb ports in the hardwaremanager and the unknown sq8 .... not works . IF I PULL OUT THE SD CARD OUT OF THE CAMERA AND PUT IT INTO AN SD CARD READER I CAN GET MY FOTOS AND VIDEOS BUT I WANT 2 GET THEM OVER THE USB CHARGING DATA VIDEO CABLE. Conociendote doy por supesto que habras presionado el boton de reset.. la mia va perfect, se calienta un poco cuando lleva un rato en marcha , pero por lo demas, de momento aguanta y eso que se ha llevado ya unos cuantos castañazos.. Nada yo ni me calentaba, que te devuelvan la pasta o que te manden otra. saludos

Gracias Songo, ya inicié los trámites, es que son la hostia de verdad.... Yo nunca tuve problemas de calidad y compré muchas cosas, ya que las prueban a la salida, no hay problema porque si no entran por el aro, lo pido a través de PayPal y ya está, pero bueno suelen atender, pero claro, estas épocas de navidad andan a cien y no prueban nada seguro, en fin...muchas gracias por tu respuesta, que me manden otra y ya, un grean saludo compañero, joder, no me había dado cuenta de que no me habia suscrito o algo hice mal, ahora ya está arreglado, veo que hablas todo en inglés, bueno, es una elección, yo estuve a punto de hacerlo en francés, ya que allí las comunidades son enormes y si hiciese lo que hago aquí desde España para allí, sé que a la gente le molaría, así que alguna intentona haré en colaboración con amig@s franceses, nací allí y viví 23 años, es que aquí en España, a veces parece sálvame, van a por tí a la menor de cambio....Terrible!!!!, un gran saludo y muchas gracias....Estamos en contact!!

Something completely missed in cameras instructions is how this camera works as a car dvr. Quite simple really, supplying power via the usb automatically starts the camera recording.

hi friend, you need to doit by one .txt in the sdcard, here one example of wha you need to put in it. '20170206010430 Y' → would be 2017, February, day 6, time: 1:04, 30 seconds, Y The 'Y / N' of the end serves to put or not the date and time in each photo and video. a greeting

When I try to put motion detector on the light stays blinking in magneta color. What does that mean?

hi Jayson Watts , welcome to songoland, is blinking all time?? this is strange,, i belive just need to blink like 3 times, for tell you the mode detection is on , and after thar star to recor (with the led off) until you press a button , what will stop the record and get out of Moviment detection mode. have you tried to reset the camera?

SongoLand I think mine is defective, because now the light is solid blue and won't turn off no matter what I do. If anything change I'll let you know. Thanks for all your help.

take the sd card out , push the reset button , and format the sd card to fat32.. may be helps

HElow friend, blaze allday , i really never try it, but i belive must work. instructions from manufacter are,, first conect the usb cable provided to the camera, second power on the camera ,,3 conect the yelow cable to the tv yelow input (analog) from your tv. let me know if works,, a gretting

I think iv been had, I bought this camera off the internet and it does not work. I think I’m going to go back to the old days and use my legs and go to the shop to get things like this, too many dodgy people selling things on the internet these days.

sorry for that, im not engilsh , and in spain we call them LED , just how it sounds , is dificult for me some times to remeber. But thanks lots for the correction

THE SQ 8 is not even shown up. Only in the hardware manager u can find it as unknown usb device (error request device description ) . in computer administration its not shown only my HDDs . no removable usb port . tryed to update drivers of all usb ports in the hardwaremanager and the unknown sq8 .... not works . IF I PULL OUT THE SD CARD OUT OF THE CAMERA AND PUT IT INTO AN SD CARD READER I CAN GET MY FOTOS AND VIDEOS BUT I WANT 2 GET THEM OVER THE USB CHARGING DATA VIDEO CABLE. HAVE U GOT AN IDEA OR DRIVER THAT WORKS ? BEST REGARDS

oo friend, this is strange, the computer must see the camera like if was a usb wen you cenect it to the computer. If is not working my be something is wrong. have you try in another computer?? also try first conect camera then switch on. Please let us know your advances on that a greeting
