One of the best knife videos out there. Too many "expert" knife reviews out there using poor technique.

Wow thanks a lot much appreciated 👍
Hi Ben! Great instruction for some basic grip techniques. Like many viewers I've been using knives all my life. Grew up on ranches and have spent my life in the outdoors but even at 70 years of age I still try to learn something new every day. This short video will improve my skills even tho I did okay all these years and didn't lose a lot of blood 😜. Can't understand the few who disparage a tutorial like this. They must be famous master craftsmen (🙄! Yeah). Anyway thanks, I really enjoy your presentations.

Great video, with a real emphasis on safety. I should remember to pivot from the shoulder more. Bravo.
Thank you, Ben Orford! This is very helpful!
Ben, that was an awesome video on the techniques of safely handling a knife with you're eight grips. I learned a lot of valuable information and plan on watching this video over and over until I can master your techniques. Thank you.
Another excellent video.Just proves when you know the basics of knives and wood you can do or make anything, brilliant.I'm guessing you're a Deer stalker,i noticed the deer hide hanging over the chair,I'm guessing Roe deer.A lot of those grips and cuts are used in field dressing game.Stay safe.
Nice work Ben. Very clear.
Excellent video. Been using doing several of the grasps wrong for 40 years, and I can now see I'm lucky to have all my fingers. Thanks Ben.
I'm glad I found your channel. Love your videos, enthusiasm and pleasant manner. Learned a lot and making a Scandi ground knife because of your channel.
Ben, I am new to the world of Bushcraft and I have just recently found your channel but I have discovered a wealth of knowledge here already. This video especially has been very informative and helpful, thank you Sir and God Bless.
Thanks! That gipsy-grasp with the knife against the shin is really nice for feathersticks. Helped me out.

It often depends how much wood is being removed sometimes you will engage a lot more muscles to remove larger amounts of stock👍
Another excellent video, very Informative ! Who made the knife?
Good, clear instruction. Should have watched this before. The wife did manage to clean the blood off the carpet though!
MAKE MORE VIDEOS....NOW!
I didn't had a knife, I had a folding knife. And I didn't have a hard childhood, at all; but I know from my father what a hard life is. My father didn't share shoes, for most of his childhood he didn't even wore them. He and his friends made their own "knives" out of scraps of metal and bullets (remains from spanish civil war). Anyway, I appreciate this video intentions but I feel it is a bit like selling "common sense". And that worries me, as "experts advice" are not a replacement for that.
Seriously... come on. That "techniques" are just common sense natural "grips"... I used them since I was a kid.
Why ol thad? In Finland and Sweden little girls can whittle easier......why fear knife
