    I've published over 30+ books on Amazon so far. BUT I did it the hard way! Formatting them all myself. 😬 Amazon had a template that I downloaded so that I knew I had the right dimensions. But I'm really excited to try out the program that you recommend, it looks like it would be way easier to use that way! Out of the 30 plus books only one is a best seller because I used a special launch strategy like you mentioned. I totally agree with you, Gillian, that you need to have a launch strategy and I would love it if you could do a video on your strategy on how you launched your book. Thank you for always inspiring us and getting us motivated to take action!🥰🤗

    Wow, you had an Amazon best seller!!!! With my second book coming out this week, I have done no launching strategy, but am thinking of one after watching this video. What's your genre? What name do you go by as an author? I'd like to support you/follow you on Amazon and check out your work. Mine is under the name I use here.

    @@aveguevara Congratulations on your two books, that's so awesome! My genre up till now had been financial literacy for kids, however after my coma I've been moving towards evergreen KZread marketing because during my coma it was my KZread videos that continued to sell my books, courses and affiliate commissions for me, as well as the ad revenue. If you're looking for a launch strategy, I highly recommend using KZread because of its evergreen marketing abilities that other social platforms simply don't offer. Hope that helps. What is your genre? Fiction/nonfiction? My name here is the same as my author name. 🤗

    @@AmandavanderGulik Wow, you supported yourself through a coma!! Hope you're ok now dear Amanda! Both books were actually 'channeled' - which I didn't expect...but both on different subjects - not books 'about channeling' - this second one is called, "GRIEF: The Gift of Transformation" - channeled from the wisdom my standard poodle gave me after she passed and I was grieving - she came to me and counseled what the gifts were. Wasn't planning on making it a book, I just did automatic writing when she 'came through' - and it's definitely a book that will help others. Both books are from my true experiences - the first one is a compilation of the journals I kept through a multidimensional experience I had that began when I went to Argentina. I also didn't plan on having that experience be a book for the world to read. I'll look for you on Amazon! Is there a YT channel called Evergreen YT Marketing? How do I find it? Thank you for this amazing reply. Wow on financial literacy for youth - what an excellent service for young people! I may buy that for my grand children for Christmas!

    @@aveguevara I channeled one of my books as well, my get unstuck for kids one. I would write the lesson and then at the end of each chapter I would write a story showing how that lesson works and those stories just flowed through me. It was the most wonderful experience. I'd never had that happen before. My kiddos also wrote a book about grief after our sweet Candy doggie passed away. My daughter wanted to write a book of all the fun memories we had and to share how we had honoured her with our ceremony to help other kids cope with their pet losses too. Thank-you for your kind words about my financial literacy for kids books, that really means a lot. No my channel is just my name, not Evergreen YT Marketing. Although, I am considering starting a new channel to really give it the full focus it deserves, seeing as my original channel is a mish-mash of different niches. (If I do, I will post it prominently on my current channel to make it easy to find.) Even though my videos rank really well, the different niches don't help the algorithm find the right viewers. (Cake decorators and parents who want to raise money smart kids are not really my perfect avatar for the online business and evergreen KZread marketing niche that I am now more passionate about.) That's something I'll be teaching as well. Gillian has mentioned this in her past videos as well. Her channel started to rank really well for her 'best jobs online' videos and they were not targeting her perfect avatar of online entrepreneurs, they were targeting people wanting online jobs. So even though she will occasionally target that niche to give her channel a quick boost, most of her videos are targeted for her perfect online entrepreneur avatar and that's what she now ranks most for. Yes I was shocked to see that I was still earning money during my coma, it was only a few hundred dollars a month, but it taught me the importance of setting up videos on my channel to build passive income for my online business. I took a few years, while recovering, to really study in depth, what had been working on my channel accidentally, so I could start doing those things intentionally going forward. I learned a lot from Gillian along the way. Even though a few of my earlier videos had gone completely viral, they weren't earning me all that much money. The one video with over 6 million views had only earned just under $10,000 in ad revenue. (Yes, I know that seems like a lot, but when you think about that video having made that money over 13 years, then that was less than $100/mo ... so not really something you can live on.) But I knew it was just a numbers game, and it proved to me that we can't just rely on ad revenue on our channels. I like to think of ad revenue as the cherry on top ... getting paid to promote your business! After learning how to create my videos properly, with the proper onsite SEO, with building offsite SEO (backlinks) and making sure that my video thumbnails and titles got the best click through ratios from people who were actually the right avatar for those videos, and knowing how to open loops and then close them later in the videos to build that all important longer watch time retention, I learned the real strategy for building an evergreen KZread marketing system. Honestly, you will learn so much from Gillian on all of this! She's been absolutely amazing to watch and learn from. Once I had all of these down to a fine art, I started to notice something incredible. You don't actually need a ton of views to make solid, real money on here. You just need the right viewers and the right offer. Give a ton of value, build loyalty, like, know and trust and then you'll be absolutely amazed at the power your word has for recommending your own products and services as well as affiliate referrals. Now I can have videos that just get a few hundred views to start, but earn me thousands of dollars, and then over time those videos gain more and more traction on YT. You are welcome to send me an email and just mention that we were chatting on Gillian's video, so I'll know its you. You'll find my email on my about info on my channel. Hope that helps. I only subscribe to 3 main online business mentors, and Gillian is my top one! Thank-you Gillian for all you do. Big hugs 🤗

    My second book comes out this Thursday 5/9, having used Amazon KDP. I'm going to create a private link for a meditation to go along with this book as a free gift for those who buy the book and leave a positive review. Love the idea of these blank books - gives me great ideas to make beautiful books with borders and inspirational quotes related to my latest book.

    I love your Book sorted. It has helped me so much. I have a question for you. Do you use the same Amazon account with your affiliate links as you do publishing through KDP or do you recommend using two separate Amazon accounts for those?

  • @JennyHansenLane

    You can use the same. You can even use your affiliate link on your own book to get your commission and your book royalty. Just make sure your affiliate links are not printed in any of your books. That's against their program.

    Just wondering that if you ran the final version of your book, through the free Grammarly would there have still been typos in your book. I run my Word short scripts for YT, and my book chapters all through the free Grammarly app that I installed in Word and it underlines most issues and spelling errors (or does it? I am thinking 99 percent.). Just curious. What is your opinion of Grammarly for people to use to correct some issues, like spelling and basic grammar, before handing off to an editor? Although, Grammarly may only work in certain programs like Word (and Outlook), perhaps not in Bolt.

  • @gillianzperkins

    @gillianzperkins

    I'm sure that would have helped! Grammarly didn't exist (or at least, I didn't know about it) when I published my book 8 years ago. :)
