The best is generally high molecular weight polyethylene of whatever level you'd prefer, currently id say a good budget armor would be the monoclete level 3 (in game level 4) plates in an mmac with the ssapi level 5 sides.

@@JohnDoe-gq6yg I actually just brought this up in my discord group, but with the armour change there are now class 4 aramid rigs, when previously only the paca was aramid. Aramid has 50% the destructibility of UHMWPE which makes it by far the best (50 dura of aramid is 267 effective durability)

Good video. Long text ahead, TLDR: Workbench 2 takes long to acquire (check flea market prices for upgrade materials to get a feel for item scarcity), 556 is not really useful early game (due to ammo constraints). It would be lovely if BSG expanded on side-quests to unlock Vendor items earlier (like bigger backpacks from LL1) and on Hideout options on early levels - including alternative craft recipes, like substituting Insulating Tape for Duct Tape when crafting Scav Backpacks for instance. One comment on the 556 ammo portion in the early to mid-game is that Workbench lvl 2 is an actual slog to acquire with 3x toolsets (which you need for many hideout upgrades, quests and barters) and 2x Electric Drills. I don't know if I'm just unlucky, but so far I've only found like 6 toolsets and 1 electric drill in a total of over 50 raids - and to no surprise I didn't survive all the time. I've been mostly on Customs and Ground Zero (due to quests), but also upwards of 10 raids on both Woods and Interchange (mainly to run OLI) and a few Shoreline. Considering prices on the Flea with Toolsets going for around 90k and Electric Drills going for around 50-70k... it's really expensive to acquire through the Flea market. And before you get it 556 is limited to what you find in-raid or really bad ammo. I don't know if it's new to this wipe (I've been out of the game for nearly 2 years) but some traders have the same items for sale for different prices, like Skier having two versions of ADARs which are identical in item but one is near half the price of the other. I don't know if this is a faction bonus for being USEC, but if it is, I would love if BSG made it possible for USEC to unlock something like the FMJ ammo for Peacekeeper LL1 after completing some quest. In general I feel like the game first "begins" around LL2 - aka level 20. This is where you might have access to a reasonable amount of body armor, vests, and especially backpacks and medication. I would love to see BSG work more on making the early game more flexible, so you can aim to complete unlock vender item quests to get early access to some items so it doesn't feel like such a slog, where ideally you should just grind EXP to get up to LL2 ASAP (and also to get access to the Flea Market as this is where the big money is at, which can easily be used to buy and sell items in bulk to satisfy the money requirement). And the distance between LL2 and LL3 is generally a lot "shorter" than LL1 to LL2. Lets take Peacekeeper for instance; while the EXP amount needed to reach LL3 is almost double the amount needed to reach LL2, you have more readily access to body armor, medications, and better quality guns with modifications that secures a higher survival rate - at least this is the experience I generally have during a wipe. It starts out terrible and once I get the machine running, which usually happens around lvl 20/LL2, I start improving my lifetime survival rate from somewhere around 20% to 30-40%. This significantly boosts experience gain per raid and I can more readily engage with PMCs and Scavs. The slog is felt mostly from LL1 to LL2 and I wish BSG would make some changes to make this less so. Just imagine a quest to unlock an MBSS on Peacekeeper for dollar on LL1 and on Ragman to acquire the blue 3x4 rucksack. These would be optional side-quests so those who don't care and just power on through can do that, but those who find the span between LL1 and LL2 painfully long can find some respite that doesn't keep them in the dirt for as long. Another thing that would greatly help the experience of the early game is to make alternative crafting recipes in the Hideout. Like the Lavatory lvl 1 can craft Scav Backpacks for 1x Cordura and 1x Insulating Tape. Why not be able to substitute the tape for Duct Tape? Or the Cordura for Aramid? Why not have more options so the player can feel good about engaging in the Hideout building and possibly make more use out of the loot you can find in-raid? The more flexible and expanded you make the Hideout, especially for the early levels, the less painful the lower end players will find the game. And most players will ignore these options once they get access to better gear through upgraded Hideout levels or from Vendors. The lack of options only serves to keep low end players down.

On a subject that I've never seen a content creator do. "Simply" which quests/questlines that are optimal for pvp-oriented players without focus on kappa or lightkeeper. Take care.

I used to stagger A1 and warmage 2A1 3Mage... due to the former spastic recoil, my first shot or two might hit center mass and pen the armor and the warmage would have a high chance of either hitting arms or face lol it was devastating.

Aug was actually my go to gun on Patch 13 as well after the stealth buff.

Completly agree with u on the aug, my friends were laughin at me for using it but i honestly think its a pure monster

tbh the mini monster was nice in previous wipes too glad to see recoil tests on metal, the way things bunch is much more readable now :D (altho the more simple recoil mechanics make the variety much lower)

Sost is great and I've used it to carry me to 856A1, but now I run HP, thinking of going to warmage as I'm used to pelvic girdle shooting. I run every 5th a tracer and bottom 10 tracer with the new mag presets and is awesome on conserving good ammo as tracer A1 is normally sufficient. Before this wipe I always ran bottom 10 tracer on all my mags.

Yeah, I'm surprised there's no videos about the AK variants post-recoil changes, I really want to know how they stack up against the previously "meta" 5.56 guns.

Been using the aug this whole wipe, super cheap and great recoil but i was buying the sost for 900 roubles each, i cant believe i never checked for a craft, 400 roubles each from crafting is insanely good

Well, i wouldn't say it was only the ammo and the accessibility to the gun that made me and most of my friends run 5.56 later in the wipe, it was more of a "we can't mod it, and unmodded it dances around A LOT, so better save it for later when we can use it much more effectively".

I've bin using warmageddon with huge success by going to the leg meta with it , Pen is trash but you dont need it anyways shooting the legs !

I did become to like the HK, but only around recoil 15. It just slaps. About 10 rounds per second. Put whatever ammo in, aim, and spray.

I liked the AUG before the patch. Can’t say I’m happy everyone else likes it now. 🥺 RIP my 30k flea purchases and infinite insurance.

Could you make a video about the recent changes to headsets? Pestily mentioned the changes on his stream and several people in chat had no idea (including myself). I feel like people might consider playing a little more aggressive if they'd known (also including myself lmfao).

@Gigabeef someone made a video claiming that no foregrip on the AUG has better recoil than without, and that this also effects some earlier guns like the AK74U. This is a bit worrying as it feeds in to the 'recoil is so good this wipe' - as we've all been using our un-modded unforegripped weapons until now and are going to be hit with a reality shock if the good recoil is due to a bug!

one thing to note about sost, is the +3 recoil versus the -2 on m855, so the resulting 5 recoil swing. overall, probably doesn’t really matter given the new recoil, but it is worth noting, especially because the 2 pen doesn’t put it in a spot that much better than m855

Have they made recoil numbers comparable across weapons that shoot the same ammo type? I know this wasn't a thing in the past but this is the second or third time I've heard someone comparing the recoil stat numbers.

Are the recoil numbers for different guns comparable now? If I recall correctly before they didn't have much meaning because they were relative to each weapon, 50 recoil on an AK would be much different to 50 recoil on a AR and so on.

I’m sure that you’re aware but one of things I noticed this wipe is the moe stock taking a huge recoil nerf, and I think that meta builds will have to finally truly choose between recoil and ergo. I realize before that to truly max out recoil you had to give up ergo, but you could have the ergo before only giving up a few points of recoil, now there will truly be a choice

I was just thinking about how they ought to make the muzzle breaks more definitively slanted towards that, too. Lowering the overall bonuses provided by weapon parts would be a great change too imo. Means we can finally customize our guns for fun and style rather than keeping recoil manageable with the OP af late-game guns.

Currently have an Aug w a mini monster and a Tac30 on it. I'm only level 13 and I've had it for 4 raids and 5 USEC kills but im almost out of 855. I'm sure I'll lose it from a 7mm buck scav tonight anyway so I shouldn't worry 😂

I do think that as soon as m855 is unlock its better than SOST. Its not tracer, doesnt have +3 recoil, and does 2 more damage. SOST should have 35 pen IMO

I heard a few wipes ago that 46 recoil on an aug is NOT equal to 46 recoil on an m4 and the stats are gun specific.

Trick is scaving ammo spots

I'm using 6 good rounds for tops and then 24 ok-ish rounds below, makes the good rounds last even longer

This is really cool in theory because now you can't just buy armor piercing anymore, since due to the social collapse in Tarkov, it's supposed to not be available to the public. But, in reality, it f'ing sucks because all chads are already running amok with lvl 5 plates and armor piercing rounds while the rest of us are stuck with crappy ammo.

ami the only one who thinks ammo should be taken out oif the wrkbench and put into a separate hideout bench? i hate not being able to craft anything for hours since im making ammo that i'll probably just use or die with all of it in one raid

As far as im concerned the workbench is an ammobench with a bunch of clutter in between the ammo. So yeah, would be nice to have ammocrafts on a separate table for sure

The only headshot anything could take in tarkov is a pellet from a shotgun shell. It must be your ping

This wipe has hit reg issues, the scavs are more tanky for this reason

you also need the desire to drop mags of bullets worth more than your modded gun T.T

I have started to notice that you are using weapon recoil stat numbers to compare two different guns. If I am not mistaken, those numbers are not universal. Ther are for the gun specificly only. Meaning x amount of recoil on gun a is different than x amount of recoil in weapon b.

I literally can’t load onto streets this wipe and it seems like a lack of PC performance. I can play all the other maps at 50-60 fps on medium settings but the game will chug so hard upon loading into streets it’ll DC me. Anyone have any suggestions?

Did ya turn on the lower streets graphics option in settings? I'm not exactly sure what it's called. But it's like turning on mip streaming just for streets.

Instead of starting your spray at the shins you can start at the thigh or tummy now depending on the weapon. This is far more realistic than having to put your first shot into their big toe for the majority of the rounds to hit the chest.

Anybody know what happened to sound over the last few days? Suddenly me and my friends can hear the slowest creep-crouch walk super loudly (as loud as normal walking) and now distance of sounds barely matters. It's not there one second, then it is the next, and it basically stays at the same volume as they get closer...

EFT's audio has been all over the place throughout the game's life. Could be the map you were on, could be the snow making the steps sound much louder, could be the changes to headsets, idk.

@ahealthkit2745 ya, with this being my 4th wipe, I usually let a lot of audio issues go because I'm pretty familiar with how bad this game handles audio at times. But this feels different and I was wondering if anybody else had noticed it. Ever since last wipe (I think) they made the slowest possible crouch walk completely silent (to everybody else but yourself), and even on snow me and my friends couldn't hear it. But as of yesterday, we've noticed that it is making as much sound as walking now. We did almost exclusively play Customs yesterday, so maybe it's just that map? But it's a huge change in the audio-scape if it's intentional.

I've seen enough gameplay of this wipe that it seems to me that the snow could be playing a factor, but from what I can tell, people are still noiseless if they crouchwalk at minimum volume walking, I've even been snuck up on a couple of times. Could be that you are hearing people who are doing one half of the trick? Crouching but not slow walking, or slow walking but not crouching? That or Customs has an audio bug that prevents slow walking and crouching from making you noiseless on snow.

@ahealthkit2745 I'm back with a report, me and a buddy tested stuff yesterday. We played Customs, Streets, Ground Zero, and Factory. In customs, no matter what we stepped on, the slowest crouch walk could still be heard (we made sure we weren't at one tick or anything), but on every other map, it was silent. So looks like Customs audio is a bit broken right now. Hopefully word spreads and BSG can fix it soon.

My 545 and 556 feel worthless rn, so many gunfights ive had where i land half a mag to thorax and then i get aimpunched and die by headshot everyyyy time, i feel like im the only one getting aimpunched lmao

So as a casual i wont get to play with the M4, cool.

You can also buy M855/SOST off the flea but it's expensive so I usually avoid that

Every wipe I am always confused. How are yall not using pistol and bolt actions. I am lvl 28 and I need to many bolt actions kills or quest required xyz kit. I don't really get to pick my kits until I near max traders.

They're finally doing what I said to do years ago. Make the high end stuff rare and harder to get, and all the useless shit ammo in the game the common stuff.

It's a great change and it should've come sooner. Hopefully they don't revert or go back on these changes next wipe and make better ammo available earlier from traders or something, I really prefer having to scrounge for the good ammo.

Im truly so upset that i didnt realize SOST was literally BETTER than 855. Ive had WB2 for like ages and im hell bent on running 5.56 If the mini monster proportions werent so wack looking id use it but with the freedom to build guns i like to look at and still have them function, its tough to convince myself. I have so many of them too cuz they store really well, not taking up any space when mounted to a barrel

Because they're to scatter brained to check the chart after a major patch. They need to be spoon fed this information and follow content creators like sheep.

If the sost craft was 250 rounds+ maybe it's worth it but might as well just run 855 if you have to use 556 since you can buy infinite and it's only got a couple less pen Im not spending 500 a round on a 5hr craft just to have 5 mags of dogshit ammo. Literally barely one kit worth every 5hrs not worth 33 pen at all, and with 855 ill just run 6+ mags Dont even mention top loading sost i dont wanna hear it

I don't get how 2 more pen makes a big difference over m855.

This was an early game guide - you don't get M855 until PK 3 whereas you can make SOST at level 20

Probably just because you can't buy it from the traders. Currently you can flip M855 back onto the flea, but yeah it doesn't make sense that sost is still so expensive

My personal recommendation is just play sig spear. Meta gun and it’s also badass lookin. M4 kinda fell off ngl. If they allowed m995 to be crafted at the hideout it could have been still extremely viable. I understand like making m855a1 less accessible to the public makes lv5 armour more viable but that’s a no no when you can find lv5 plates everywhere rn and it makes lv5 armour an issue. They should buff the penetration on m856a1 a bit so it fights lv5 a bit better ngl

ngl, 5.56 is completely dead until late wipe. Most people aren’t gonna craft SOST, and there’s just no reason to use it. CBJ is still available on the flea market, 6.8 is easily available, M80 is still purchasable from traders, .45 ACP AP is on traders. I could go on but you get the point

Bullpups should naturally recoil more because they’re a lot less front heavy than other guns.

Just use a gun with shitty accuracy, so you can kill in legs, arms or head when aiming at torso. (With shitty ammo too, of course)

Don't sleep on warmageddon. With premedding not being as prevalent one toe shot is pretty much a guaranteed kill
