Thanks for this video. Just bought at wm8900 5.2. It’s probably the same. Definitely want to do this upgrade!

I just bought a WM4200HWA, July 2022 build date, and I already have it apart to diagnose severe vibration issues. (I think the floor is damaged, but my landlord insists that it's the machine. Surprise!) I was happy to see that it has 4 shock absorbers, one on each corner! The chassis has the mount point for the rear center shock, but the drum doesn't have a mount point above that. That got me thinking that maybe the design intent on these WM9000-series machines like you show here was to have the option for 3 or 4 shocks, rather than them starting with 5 and reducing it to 3. Maybe someone considering this upgrade could move the rear shock to the side and add another one to the other side? Just a thought!

I'm still trying to find out how to repair damping like this of lg. I found out that i can repair my damping rods of samsung washer just by wrapping electrical tape in it. But it's useless to lg damping rods. Hope you could think of an easy way to reuse/fix this issue.

@@theendresult7584 id love to. I can buy 4 rods for just 12usd. But in my case I bought this washer for 24usd. Cheap because bought it with the board non functional and fixed it.. With that being cheap I could buy another washer instead of buying rods. Samsung damping rods are easy to fix due to its design. I can fix it without spending a penny. Lg's rods are different. Still thinking but if I don't get a fix then I'll absolutely buy a new one. Hehe

its job is to tell the pressure sensor how much water is in the tub so that it shuts the water off once the water level is achieved. its going to run to the top of the machine to a part called water pressure switch

not a huge difference but appears to balance loads a little faster

And puts more load on the bearings.. this is a balanced system, either you need a higher capacity machine or put less in it or wear the bearings faster...

@@ismaelyu5 its a weighted system, not a balanced system until the washer detects that the spin is smooth enough to continue speeding up the drum then it's a balanced system and this mod helps that happen faster. The bearing is made of extremely hard steel which only prematurely fail when in contact with water from a failed seal not weight. thanks for your 2 cents tho.

Good idea but I don't think my LG washer has those 2 extra attachment points for 2 extra shock absorbers. Frankly, those plastic tubes with a metal inner shaft with a bit of grease in them are not really shock absorbers. More of a guide that the drum attaches to. I wish someone would make a real pneumatic shock absorber that would replace these cheap ones LG puts out. Something that actually acts as a real dampener to steady the drum properly. China makes almost everything I am sure some enterprising Chines company could do it, they would sell a lot of them if they did.
