I got stuck at video:7:12 the usb wouldn’t upgrade. It said “ Tails installer is not responding
Gist of the matter is to update/grade Tails as soon as possible, thus avoiding hassle-is'nt it?
I did the tutorial, and everything worked out in the end. Now, how do I format the second pendrive so that it is usable again?

Using the USB you have your temporary tails on to update other outdated USB? Or do I need a new USB for each tails USB I update ?
Please change tails background image to differentiate between current running version.

Thanks for the video. What do you think of using a VPN with TAILS? I know one way to do it is with a travel VPN router, such as the ones made by GL-iNet.

IMO, there are no advantages in using a VPN with TAILS and that is because TAILS uses the TOR network for its communication. On the contrary, if you use a VPN, then your connection will be identified through your VPN credentials before accessing the TOR network

Good quest, seems Tails mentioned this-have to check this again. "The Persistent Storage of your Tails USB stick will not be copied to the temporary Tails." Not exactly....

Temporary Tails 5.4 displayed DE, nothing clickable. According to ur post, I saved files to a stick, in case they are lost. Second bootup worked and Tails 4.x was upgraded. Bootup went normally, nothing deleted, even e-mail account in Thunderbird working. I suspect u clicked in "Tails Installer" a totally new installation instead "Upgrade".

Restore disk image is grayed out
