How To Upgrade GM Trunnions - CHE Precision Trunnions

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video we show how to the OEM GM Trunnions on 2014 Silverado with the 5.3L L83 Motor. This process will be identical or very similar on 2014+ Silverado, Sierra, and Tahoe models as well as 2014+ Corvette Stingrays and 2016+ Camaro SS models with the LS and LT motors.
IMPORTANT: When installing snap rings onto the end of the trunnions, the sharp edge of the I.D. needs to face away from the bushing.

All good! I copied that from their instructions, probably should have written it out. One or the edges is a bit sharper if you feel it with your finger. That should face away from the bushing. I spoke to che and they said it probably doesn't matter but they do it to be safe.

Oddball question, I installed them on my ls3 rockers and now the rocker bolt will not fit thru. Do they require some different size bolt? They are 821 GMPP heads btw.

I’m looking at and planing for a BTR Stage 2 kit w/AFM delete. I’m guessing it wouldn’t be a bad idea to change my OEM rockers out with a set of these?

2001 6.0 vortec? I am only running a .500 lift cam. I was told they drop in and use the stock pushrods and rockers. Summit pro LS

How clean or dirty did your engine look since you have direct injection? Did you have a lot of carbon buildup at all? Thanks.

It didn't look bad to my eye but I don't really have a comparison to know if it was or not. The catch can was on for about 60K of the 108K miles on the truck.

@@TheSundaeDrive I have a catch can installed on mine too. I have almost 56,000 on my 2015 Silverado. I installed the catch can at around 53,000 miles. I am amazed at the amount of crud it catches.

  • @TheSundaeDrive

In the winter, some of the crud is caused by condensation in the can but they definitely pick up a lot of oil regardless. Just make sure you empty it regularly or get a check valve

Nice video but you left out a small detail. The snap rings need to be installed with the sharp edge of the ID facing away from the bushing. If you look closely at the snap rings you will see what I'm talking about and step 6 of the install instructions detail this. Otherwise good info.
