Thanks so much for these really comprehensive and clear guides. Despite some nervousness I was able to install the navigation by following the steps, without any problems. The dealer quoted £130 just to 'scope the issue' with no guarantees it would be the final bill, so finding these instructions and being able to follow them is fantastic. Very many thanks.

Hi, I just bought a 2016 with 3.08 Nav A10 Took card out to look at it. Put it back in, clicked it and it now says No SD card. Tried with engine on and off. Tried taking it out and in aswell. Nav was working until I took card out. Please help

have a question for you, when I tried to install the navigation app the first time sync said that it could not install copy righted material through the USB port. It seemed to install the app anyways. It did not appear in the system information. Tried a second time still with no luck. I am trying the app for sync 3.08. am i missing something? I have made all the other updates and module changes. Do you have an idea of what i need to do? thank you

If you already have navigation you will only need an updated maps card. You may need to update sync version 3.10 as well.

So I basically install those onto a flash drive and plug the flash drive into my cars usb port? It will automatically download or do I have to select update? I’m sorry for all the questions.

I did the process, have the small compass, Insert Nav SD card in the corner, did the navipatch and I even have the nav option in the menu, but my software shows no license and no navigation under the system info screen, still says 4.32. Every time I try to put the usb in, I get an error that says "one or more of the files you are trying to install did not install successfully". I know that i unzipped and transferred everything to to USB the correct way, im not sure what Needs to be done to fix the issue.

Are you doing the full update or trying to update the nav app only?

Hey Ried just a few questions. I just got a 2014 Ford escape that was bought with Navigation already and software update 4.32. So first off will the 3.08 or 3.10 work if I'm in Canada? Second if it already has Navigation do I still have to do the ELM connector part? And last it has Navigation so do I still have to install the NaviPatch? Sorry I'm new to this :/ Thx for your time!

Hi Reid. I’m on version 3.10. Your link to the download doesn’t work anymore, so I got one from forscan. I then tried to use the nav patch and set the background and tapped it and got the “Navi unlocked!!!” statement. I then master reset my car and I did not see the navigation information in my system information. I went ahead and did your nav app download on my usb from your previous video just to be safe and downloaded that to my car and it updated that. I then did the nav patch png background again, and master reset after that. That did not do anything either. Do you have any advice? I’ve been stuck on this a few days and can’t get it to work. Thank you!!

Hi - I have a A12 SD Card and I still don’t have access to maps… I even tried to reset the system and that didn’t work. Any suggestions? Have a 2012 Ford Edge running Sync 2nd Gen. If I bought A13 would it work or would I have same problem..? Thanks!!! Love your vids.

If I download 3.10 onto a flash drive and then what? I plug both into car and laptop and then it should update? I have an old MacBook.. not up to date. Hope that’s ok. Then I have a A12 sd card already.

What is the last version of sync 2 available for a 2015 mkz hybrid? How could I look that up myself? I just put a B11 update into my vehicle and it didn't seem to have to take any time to install anything. Should it take a while to update the maps to b11? The car system settings says it is b11, but its odd that it didn't seem to have to load anything.

I have a 2013 Ford F-150. It has an A3 maps SD card. Can I update with that SD card or do I need to update my SD card to an A8,A9, or A10?

I am on version 3.10 and update the Nav app it goes through the install but when I check the sys info it does not show it installed. I thought it might be install and just not showing it. did the obd change but still just shows info. How do I verify that NAV app installed.

I love the Ford Sync stuff, it's awesome you can mess with them like you have. For an updated map dvd in my Denali it costs $180!!! How is that not free? I bought a $14 bootleg version and all the sudden it quit reading the disc. Time to burn a new disc i guess.

I have the A10 map files. Can I use a USB stick to load them up? Is there anything special I need to do to get the maps to load after the Nav unlock?

Hi! I downloaded the update and installed it successfully to 3.08. My navigation says 4.66. I have a A4 card in my 2011 explorer. Even with the install when I open my navigation I still have a x over my GPS and it thinks I'm in another city. What else do I need to do?

Yes. I believe 3.10 comes with the nav app already. You’ll need to use forscan to enable navigation and nav patch.

If I have a mft (sync 2) how can I add navigation? Would I need to hook up the antenna cable to the back of the aimp?

I have a ford mondeo that has sync 2 v3.7 with nav- can I update to 3.10 using the update links? It wont mess up anything?

I have a 14 f350 lariat that has heated/AC seats and a heated steering wheel. They aren't "turned on" do you know how do that in sync2?

Hi. I just bought a 2013 F-150 Platinum with 8 inch touch screen. The update worked grade to upgrade to 3.08. I tried to repeat the process for the navigation app. It appeared to freeze on 1 of 2. Does this install take a while? I was worried and pulled the stick. Should I expect this to take similar or as long as the sync update? Is there a chance the file is corrupt? I know it has been some years. Thank you

File is not corrupt. It can take some time.

Will enabling the navigation have any adverse effects on Sirius XM or is it completely unrelated? (2014 Escape-Sync2)

Ok so I have watched this video, done everything the same way you have explained. I hit "begin installation", I am still getting a "File not found: please check that the installation file in in the roost directory of your storage device."... I have done exactly as you have showed. What am I missing here?

I have 2014 Ford Escape i change the module out to navigation module. It showed navigation then ask for the update. Put the Ford 3.10 update in and Ford erased navigation. Can you help?

The maps sd card dictates what maps you have.

Downloaded 3.08 it started installing then image popped up saying updating sync image now it keeps booting up in same loop. need help plz

Hey Reid, I'm not sure if you'll ever see this comment but your download links for later versions of Sync aren't working anymore.

when i go to open up the Sync 2 3.10 Update link it says this Invalid URL - the link you are trying to access does not exist. is there another way to get that?

Did everything and all went good. Only thing I don't see the navigation app version in the help system information screen. I have sd card on order so I need that in there to see the nav app version?

I watched the video did everything you said to but when I plug the thumb drive in a message pops up and asks if the root directory in on the thumb drive, and will not load the update. Not sure what I am doing wrong?

Are you putting the folder on the thumb drive? If so take the contents out of the folder and put it on the thumbnail.

The 3.10 download is no longer available. Is is critical to have it or will the 3.08 suffice? Thank you for sharing your videos.

3.08 works fine. Or go to the Ford sync my ride website and put your VIN in and it will show you the 3.10 download for update.

This can be done with out the OBDII.. do everything like in the video.. dl the 3.08 or 3.10 then load the patch open and hit unlock then do a master reset... worked for me

Only if navigation is enabled in the APIM. If it’s not you have to use the OBDII

Some of the links you listed are on amazon coming back as not Available . The 3.10 update came back as not available

i am looking for some help i got 3.10 to load but there is nothing in system info about maps.. i dl the Nav App for 3.10 and unzip and tried it sync is telling me it needs to be on root level ... it is do i need to use 3.8

What's the difference of 3.08 and 3.10. My vehicle information is 3.6.2 / SYNCGen2_4.30.13171_PRODUCT; Nav App Version is 3.48.9; map version is A4. After the sync 2 upgrade, will the navigation function still work? Thank you.

I’m not sure on the differences.

I did the Navi app and it said unlocked, I then installed navapp 3.08 bc that is my version. I performed master resets after each step, however my settings still do not show navigation version so I'm not sure if anything worked. Did that only show after updating with forscan? Also am I okay using a regular default image after unlocking with Navi?

It will only show when you have the maps sd card installed.

I have 3.08 on my car but not the nav app. Will your nav app work for Europe do you think?

Soo do you have to install 3.08 before 3.10 or can you just install right to 3.10?

@@DIYReid Awesome, thanks for your video. I never would have known that the 4.29 was outdated. I went right to 3.10, took a chance on ebay for the a10 card. All is working. Now onto fixing my wiper not working issue, unrelated.

so after i unzip nav app3.10, i open the "Update to AG" folder, then i drag the 2 files which are the "sync my ride" folder and "autoiunstall.lst" onto my usb drive. is that correct?

I'm stumped. I upgraded to version 3.1, did nav app, navi patch, and forscan but it still won't read my A10 SD card. I've bought 2. My luck can't be that bad. Any suggestion?

I have a Ford Fusion 2013/14 with sync 2 and Ford of Brazil, where the updates are done online by a USB stick, checking the chassis of the vehicle, but they say my car has no sync 2 updates. Navigation works perfectly But the software itself, Ford says I have the latest version installed. Do you know if Ford in USA has already released any 2013/14 Fusion ecoboost titanium upgrades? I mean Sync 2, not the gps card. Thanks for your help!

So what are my options if I have the 4" screen that is not touch. 2013 ford escape. It defaults to line in and pisses me off lol.

Was wondering after you do the navpatch and push the unlock button. Once it says unlock can you go back to a custom wallpaper or do you lose that feature?

I had already updated mine to 3.10 from Ford's website, which is when my navigation disappeared. I downloaded your navapp for 3.10 and it installed very quickly. After I turned my car off, the screen went black and hasn't returned. No functioning screen, no radio, nothing...

I have completed updates and installed everything and it's working fine but I forgot to do the master reset do you recommend doing it now?

On a side note! I did 3.10 sync 2 update then forscan then the Navi patch! After master reset the I information changed to add nav sd card. It wouldn’t read it until I did the 3.10 nav update

I cant get this too work. I am following exact directions to a T on the video. It still don't work in my 2016 Explorer. Help. Can anybody send detailed directions?

Hey I just tried this, just the sync update, and it kept saying it couldn’t find the file even though it was on the root page. Any idea why that might be? Also a separate message popped up saying “usb device not supported”

So I updated Sync 2 to version 3.10.16180.EA.0_PRODUCT, which shows up in Sys Info. Then I got a successful completion of installing the Nav software, which I made sure I got the one specifically for sync 3.10, screen said "successful install". Loaded Navi patch successfully, clicked on Unlock. So I thought the Nav app would show in in Sys Info, nope it didn't, so I did a Master Reset. After that still no Nav App shows up, referring to the "nav 6.76.6" or whatever... it's not showing up. So I tried the forscan mod, changed the number, and the top right corner then said insert sd card. So I inserted my new from Amazon A11 SD card. Nothing happens. So, why is my Nav App not showing up in Sys Info, even after it said installation of the nav app was successful. Also I changed the number back in forscan, so I can now "start over". Any help would be awesome, I am stumped now.

I got it working today. I was not touching the blue "unlock" on the Navipatch. I then was able to load the NAV app file successfully. After a Master Reset I had Navigation. So I suggest this order of operations: Forscan to enable the Navigation, Load the Navipatch.jpg and touch the "Blue Unlock", Install the 3.08 or 3.10 update or Nav Update (depending on your version and situation) and then do the Master Reset. Install the Navigation SD card.

Trying to download navipatch you listed is not letting g me download. I was able to update perfectly and easy.

I have a Ford with a A4 SD Nav card, can I update the SD card to a newer nav or do I need to buy a whole new card?

You use fordpass app to update software, then you can proceed to unlock nav, but it's a totally different process As it's sync 3

the download for NAV AND PATCH 3.10 doesn't work can you please repost it or email it to me ?
