My TV is Samsung UA49J5200AK. Update software file downloaded from Samsung Support site turned out to be a .msd file and as expected, is not recorgnised by the TV when trying to update vis USB. Any help from anyone here please.

I was getting frustrated because tv kept saying there were no files on my usb, but then I realized it was listing the current software version along with that message. So somehow it updated but just did not give me any indication that it had updated. Hopefully this will eliminate the annoying screen ghosting issues. Thank you!

No, the model number must match. You can install it, but it might not have any positive effect.

Hi, according to what I know, officially it's not possible. You cannot install Firmwares from other countries to a tv from a different region, this may even break some TV models. You can change the Region if you want and get update for that country, but some apps may not work as these apps may not be available for China streaming unless you have a VPN. Samsung Smart TVs will have different apps available depending on what market they are sold in. Some apps are even locked down to the Tv model number of the TV model and as this limitation is based on hardware it can't be bypassed, and I think sme thing with updates.

What happen after you update? The channels still complete?

Tried this out on an old Samsung tv. I was able to download the file but when I plugged it in it said "No file available to download."

Most likely means the tv is trash. At that point you would need to manually flash the chip

Hi, if I am not mistaken Tizen is only supported on Samsung Smart TV 2018 or later models that use Tizen 4.0 as a platform. In ragrds to the USB issues, try another USB. The USB has to be completley formatted FAT32

@@AmZeeel the usb is already in the FAT32 format but my tv does not recognize the file to update via usb the tv recognizes the memory but does not recognize the file. when I give it to update via automatic. can not find the usb for the update with the file

No, it doesn't run automtically. You may get a pop up when you connect the USB, you still need to press ok in your remote to continue the update, otherwise you will have to access menu to do that.

@@AmZeeel well the tv failed to booth properly, it’s only turn on as plugged in,just flash smarttv logo then dark then goes to aerial but no control from remote or button. Also no Ledgend on screen. Was wondering if a service code could get me to where it could update, or like most Sony’s, whenever there is a usb in with firmware it just read and update if necessary.

I have a LT24310ND/ZA and it won’t work is the model to old?

Hi, if you see the software update in the manufacturer website using your TV model number, it means that you can still update your TV

i did that but while opening usb drive in tv the image file is there but it is not installing even i tried to install other apk's it does not show in usb i tried to format and then tried agian but it does not works

Yes, you can do this on any Samsung TV (Smart and non-smart) all Samsung Tv models.

Its a time stall by samsung like some beta software is gonna fix problems unless the prior update was causing problems doubt it so when u update through ur tv thats the current release if support tells u there new update but ur tv says its the current update and they say new update threw usb online to get the one its just there last ditch effort to not do a part repair

the tv can update with remote to the current update that everyone has public release usb update is a beta for people to fix problems cuase most people dont even know how to work a smart tv let alone update usb

Challenger Tv is not a known brand, but you can always check online in the manufacturer website. This works for alls Tvs as far as you can find the right model shoftware update as shown in the video

When I extract the file it shows as a folder called "image" and it has multiple files but I doné see the "e" explore icon, and the tv says it cant find any files to update :( can you help me please

Hi, You need a completely empty USB or a new drive to do this. If you have a used USB drive, format it first

Ivalid means not available in the manufacturer inventory. But you can still contact the manufacturer

My model is UA32J4100ARXBG but when i type this model is not showing in the bar UA32J4100 after this the codes are all different

I tried and got it all it said the tv would power off... Never would turn back on Samsung Help, No help.

Check if the USB is working in a computer and extract again the update file. Check if the USB port on your TV is not damaged, try another USB stick
