Every installation of Kali Linux generates its own unique SSH key pair during installation. Therefore, SSH keys are not the same across all downloads of Kali VMs. This uniqueness is crucial for security because it ensures that each instance has its own set of keys, reducing the risk of unauthorized access if keys were to be shared or predictable.

sudo !! That command will prepend sudo to your last command if you forgot to add it. Saves a little time in backspacing the crap out of things.

When I give apt-get upgrade... It is asking "unable to acquire the front-end... are you root?" What do I do now!!!

run sudo apt-get upgrade and enter your password when prompted

When I try to run sudo apt-get -y dist-upgrade --fix-missing I got an error: segmentation fault. I been dealing with the error fail to fetch and unable to locate package. I have updated the repository and ran some commands with no success, any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance

Did you install Kali 2020.3 from the website or did you update it from an older version of Kali? Your signature keys may be outdated. Also, I see you said you updated the repositories. Did you add the Kali rolling repo with HTTPS FROM: deb http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contrib TO: deb http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contrib

Alpha Cyber Security hello, thank you for replying. And I install Kali 2020.3 from the website. And I did add Kali rolling repo with HTTPS.

After getting new keys, they always are the same md5sum as the old ones.

They shouldn't be. If it keeps up, try deleting all the keys and running the command again

@@AlphaCybersecurity Ok, so I took a screenshot of the old keys and deleted all of them. Then ran the command again and it worked.

why does mine say this after i get the new keys rescue-ssh.target is a disabled or a static unit not running, not starting it. ssh.service is a disabled or a static unit not running, not starting it. ssh.socket is a disabled or a static unit not running, not starting it after i get the new keys and they are different....is this ok though?
