I have an unlocked Galaxy z flip and randomly stumbled across this setting and it was greyed out presumably due to my phone being unlocked already but I still clicked on the option to see if anything would happen. Nothing seemed to happen but the greyed out network unlock tab just straight up disappeared without a trace and no longer comes up in search of you try to look for it. There's no issue I was just curious what the setting was and it was interesting that it just kinda disappeared.

This is supposed to be for unlocking the sim card so you can use it on a different network... So yeah.. the only reason they're locked it because they're slime balls cell providers

I don't know what you are talking about : I have owned a Metro PCS phone for years and there was never any installed app for "Network Unlock" and the same applies to Boost Mobile phones who now owns Metro PCS. On both android phones that I want to unlock - Samsung and Motorola - under "Settings" there is no option for "Optimize Battery Usage" and on the Samsung phone, under " Settings" ~ "Connections" ~ "More Connection Settings" there is no option for "Network Unlock", it just states "Lock" and there is nothing that can be done about it. How did you get that app for "Network Unlock" that was installed on your phone ? It is certainly not available at Google Play Store.

If you unlock a phone from Korea, USA, Canada, or Japan, it won't do you any good; it just unlocks the other carriers from the same region according to the CSC list.
