I'm going to keep it real. You gospel musicians are doing way too much on these songs. There are too many passing chords and the essence of the song is not there.

This is the basis for what any gospel music needs to play in all keys. The triad chords go a long way.

This answered a question no one has been able to answer for me for a couple years. I knew the primary chords (145) could be played over the major scale, but never could figure out what chords to play on flats of the scale. Basically b2, b3= +4 ( b2=6chord, b3=7chord) . b5, b6,b7= -3 (b5= 2chord, b6=3chord,b7= 4chord) all major chords though. This was phenomenal. Can’t wait to get off work to practice this

This is how I practice and able to change keys without hitting the button on the fly especially when the want me to play the song a 5th below the original key!!! Side note!!! Use the metronome for timing!!!

So I have been really (and finally) putting effort into learning keys so that I can step up in my church’s music ministry. I have found a few things to be true. 1.) 70% of the songs played are 1564 progression 2.) chord inversions make life so much easier and 3.) nothing beats playing a basic chord progression during a prophetic prayer session. It just hits different.

3 is the same as 1….. and 7 is the same as 5… the bottom note is what changed… but they are the same exact chords which is what makes it so easy to learn in all 12 keys…
