Have you ever heard that it's impossible to tumble Petoskey stones? It's not! I'll show you how to tumble them from beginning to end. I'll use dry corn cob media to get the final polish.

Here are the steps I used:
1) Three or four days at a time in a three pound rotary tumbler with 1/2 tablespoon of 80 grit until rocks are free of holes. Use more water than normal.
2) 24 hours in a rotary tumbler with 1/2 tablespoon of 220 silicon carbide grit.
3) Two days in a vibratory tumbler with dry corn cob media and one tablespoon of 500 aluminum oxide grit.
4) Two days in a vibratory tumbler with dry corn cob media and one tablespoon of aluminum oxide polish.
