If it comes out of the nose. Stop immediately. Remove the tube, turn the puppy nose down/butt up. Clean off the nose with a cloth/towel. Then, next time use less volume, you may need to do it more often.

What size of tube do you use?

I have a day old puppy who is weak and not eating I need help! I do not have goats milk or Kari syrup I can’t get him too duck off his mom he did barely suck my finger tip

Once you feed them how long do you wait to start cleaning them by making them do #01 & #02? I have english bulldogs

Hello i tried this on my 4 week old pup, he has a flat chest right now and hasnt ate since yesterday, i did the measurement to the tip of his mouth to below his rib then i tried the air test and some fluid came out, was i in the stomach??

Yep! Good job! You were just removing a bit of a previous meal/stomach contents, just give the milk with whatever you got up!

I have a cleft lip pup that I am tubing. He is 2 wks now, at 14.5 oz. French Bulldog, should I still be feeding every two hours at 14ml ?? Tia

Can we use human tube feeding ? I am in remote area. It is difficult to find for animal. Please suggest and what size i can use for a week old puppy. thank you in advance

You would have to do a lil research bud im sorry I don’t know the answer to that me my self is having a lil problem bc one of my pups was born with a cleft in her palette and can’t breast feed and we been doing it hand since all the vets are closed today and we should be getting the tubes tomorrow wish you luck tho

What if you get the tube all the way in to the mark and then the puppy suddenly throws up?

Anytime the puppy regurgitates, stop the tube feeding immediately and invert the puppy (nose down, butt up). Clear the nostrils with a towel.

We use a size 12-14 french red rubber catheter. They are available at your vet, or probably most medical supply stores.

Please make note to lay pet on flat surface, and monitor pet for 30 minutes or more to ensure no regurgitation goes back up into the breathing larynx, which can drown and kill the pet.

Confused if you got to the mark, how you thought you might be in the lung?

I’ve seen the tube bend backwards in the mouth and just be coiled up in the mouth. Not common, but it can happen. It’s just another step to ensure your in the right spot.

CLINDAMYCIN saved my 2 week old cleft frenchie, he was dying from aspiration pneumonia. The medicine started working in 2 hours, he was not gasping for air anymore.

I still lost her 😔😢
