You have power, and I do not. You know, and I know not, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter [mention the thing to be decided] is good for me in my religion, my livelihood, my worldly affairs, and in the Hereafter then decree it for me, make it easy for me, and bless it for me. And if You know that this matter is bad for me in my religion, my livelihood, my worldly affairs, and in the Hereafter then turn it away from me and turn me away from it, and decree for me the good wherever it may be and make me content with it. Truly an over-due and well needed explanation for us Muslims. My mother has taught me the importance of doing istikhara daily. I have noticed that culturally there are many misunderstandings regarding Istikhara, people think someone else has to do it for them and they see colours etc. A reminder for us to always refer back to the sunnah for the full explanation. Jazak Allah Khair for this.

English Translation: O Allah, I seek Your Guidance in making a choice by virtue of Your Knowledge, and I ask You by Your Great Bounty, and You have Power and I have none. For verily You Know and I do not know, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if in Your Knowledge You Know that this matter is good for me in my religion, in my livelihood and in the final outcomes of my affairs, ordain it for me, make it easy for me , and bless it for me. If in Your Knowledge, O Allah, You Know this is going to be bad for me in my religion, bad for me in my livelihood, or bad for me in the final outcomes of my affairs, then do not decree it for me. Take it away from me, turn me away from it, and ordain for me good, wherever it may be; make me pleased with it, O Allah.

Alhamdolillah for bringing me to listen to this today. I do istakhara everyday for every little thing in my life. Many times I don’t get a clear answer but I trust Allah will eventually make it right because I asked Allah to make it right for me and He always fulfills his promise.

Wallahi so many many many many matters from our daily life have become so swift ever since and we are so much in peace mentally.
