How to Troubleshoot an atv that wont turn over

My mud pro has been having issues lately. I got stuck out in the trail once before. The issue is that when I press the start button, all I hear is click. The starter does not kick in.
I'll show you some simple steps on how to find the source of the problem.

Lots of people troubleshoot starter problems the hard way, using a set of jumper cables to run power from the battery directly to the starter motor. Your video shows the RIGHT way to troubleshoot a problem with the motor not turning over and is much simpler and faster. Trouble lights are a boon to any mechanic. Everyone needs one!

I thought the bulb should have lit up just as bright on the output side of solenoid as it did inside when u hit the start button. One thing i noted, (i had ground problems) was the long bolt with numerous wires used for grounds where the starter bolts to the engine case. I did something similar and had to move them and seperate them. Just a thought for anyone that may have grounding issue

What if when start button is pushed I get No click? The battery is new and operating the lights; wench; and fan my dad rigged to a toggle switch. I took the start button assembly apart and sprayed generously with electric cleaner. It has been working fine. The 4 wheeler just died and I get nothing from starter button. I can pull start it though.

Sounds like it's the stater relay/solenoid. I've seen this often. First check your ignition fuse to make sure it's good. Then take you multimeter and put the positive on the output side of the starter relay and negative to ground. You should see 12 volts when pushing the start button. If you see nothing it's a bad starter relay/solenoid.
