Yep! I've only ever had one good hairdressing experience. The rest always ignore my request of an inch and lop off a good 5 inches minimum. One even cut a fringe/bang without me asking and she told me it helped "slim my face". Like seriously ?!

Pretty much yes, haha. I'm here because I got my hair cut a few weeks ago and I have noticed SO MANY split ends ever since I got the cut. After some research I believe the stylist's scissors were too blunt. I have long, thick hair so this hair cut was not cheap. Now I have to cut off more hair to help save the rest from the potential damage of these split ends. Like you tho, I've decided I'd rather take my hair into my own hands. If I can learn how to do it, I can also make sure it looks how I want and that it's done with care.

Natural hair bleaching is easier to reach platinum. Wash hair with a chelating shampoo or any other natural chelating agent before bleaching. don't use more than 20 developer. Give a break between the times of bleaching for a month without oxidative toner. You can use blue shampoo during the first time.

I have a Christmas party for my boyfriends work tonight & I desperately needed like 3 inches of split ends cut off & I’ve cut my own hair before, but this method really took the stress out of it. It was so easy & although my hair is WAY thinner than yours (I think one of your pony tails equals the amount of hair I have on my whole head) it still turned out just as cute!

I have extremely curly hair and this works wonderfully for my hair! I meticulously straighten it and then follow your video. Takes me about an hour altogether and always looks so great afterwards! I haven't been to a salon in almost a decade, as they always layer my hair so much that I can't wear it straight as it looks choppy and uneven. This does the trick, thank you so much!

How do you get your hair so straight? I have kinky hair, more so in the back - sides are curly/wavy, and my hair has never been that straight. I can get it pretty straight just with a blower dryer but even going back with a flat iron it still would never lay that flat as hers. Do you use a serum or something? I’ve tried hundreds of serums, mouses, pomade, gel, you name it but I guess I just haven’t found the right one. Maybe you found the one I missed.

Thank you so much for this tutorial! It was a little hard since my hair is curly, but I did my best, and it turned out well. I plan to go to a professional hairstylist, but I desperately needed to trim all the dead ends in the meantime. Thanks again!!!

I've watched a lot of videos and yours is the smartest and most assertive for cutting straight hair at home. Thanks❤ in fact I added lot of videos to my playlist and your miniature was the best so I left it for last and I wasn't wrong. I'm studying to be a hairstylist and I know that this way it will look good on me, I insist that it is a very smart way to do it

Thank you for the easy to follow tutorial! I've been feeling weighed down by my dead ends for awhile now (Haven't been to a salon in 4 years) but this method worked wonderfully for my hair and i'm feeling a lot happier.

Okay so glad you left a comment saying this. I haven’t gotten my hair cut in over 6 years and my ends are just straight fuuuuuckdd up. It also doesn’t help that I have a baaaad habit of going through all the ends of my hair, looking for the thickest strands I can find and then basically turning those strands into their own split ends. It’s a horrible habit. But I desperately need to cut it and if you haven’t gone that long either and yours turned out ok?! I feel there is hope!

So well done and easy to follow. This may actually work for my hair and I'm going to give it a go. Your hair is so silky though, mine is a bird's nest right now. I'm about to cut a load of length off and dye it, need some hair TLC badly! Thank you for this video.

Thank you for this, I've been waiting for a blunt thick hair tutorial for years! Do you do your own thinning and or subtle layering yourself? It would be great to see how to achieve that as well, my hair is so hard to maintain. Hairdressers won't thin it.

Thank you so much for the hair cutting tutorial. I've been using this method over the years. I'm an ex hairstylist as well and I do not like to go to the salon. I am an African American relaxed hair woman and this method is true and tried.

Love this tutorial. The instructions are clear and most importantly it works. My hair looks great now. Before it was inverted v-shape 😅

I was really skeptical at first since your video started like many others do, but honestly I've never seen such a clean hair line after the cut. 😍 I will definitely try this!

This was the easiest demonstration on how to do this. My hair is so long and I always cut it myself but I use to like it v shaped or rounded but I'm growing it out to donate and want a nice thick blunt edge. Thanks for the video. Going to try this 100%
