Thank You Rich, I will try and do this with my DX9 and NX10. for my 1400 FMS T-28 and any other planes with nose wheel. You have given me great ideas. Thanks again.

This video was EXACTLY what I needed! Not only for a couple of jets, but I have fought like hell over the past 2 1/2 years with float planes and trying to gain more water rudder authority. Not an issue with the planes like the Timber and Turbo Timber with dual water rudders, but the Apprentice and the Twin Otter I lack the ability to turn effectively. I’ll try having the front gear/water rudder control on a separate channel and use the sliders on the bottom of the ix12. (Always wanted to find a use for those bottom sliders!) Thanks again for the video and the time putting it together. BIG HELP!

Very nice and clear presentation! Sounds like you are comfortable with mixing. Question: Is there a way on Futaba (T14SG) to disable the nose gear steering when retracted in the up position but have steering active only when the retracts are down for landing? THANKS!!!

Ironically, I was messing around yesterday afternoon with both the ArrowsRC Marlin and T-28 and their front wheels. My assumption is a hard landing(s), front gear first. But both planes were getting to a point where it was difficult I takeoff. The Marlin was fairly easy to straighten out, but the T-28 looked to be a combination of issues. But to get to it I had to remove the “C” or as you referred to it, “E” clamp. I would’ve never thought to FoamTac the clamp in place after I got done. Turned out, I think, the issue was way too much play in the wheel. A lot wobble and a good sized gap on the axle. There’s a lot of remedies for this, but I took my fly fishing in the Everglades experience as a kid and used fly tying thread and a drop of thin CA to reduce the gap. Question is, how long will it last? But the most important question is, How long will it be before I stop landing nose gear first??? Thanks for this tip and the other video on separating the rudder and front gear steering. Always something to learn in this sport.

No, it has a linkage that stops the nose gear from turning when the nose gear is in the up position:)

Hi Rich....I have the LX F4 and have been wanting to do this!! I have the same radio but no open slots as the brake controller is in 7 and the retract controller is in 8.....Do I have to sacrifice the brake controller or can I y it off of another channel?? Thanx for the help!....Rick

No, it all should work, you should have enough channels for everything....5 is usually retracts, 6 is flaps, 7 & 8 are for Nose Wheel steering & brakes.

If the nose gear is on aux 2, how is it retracting?

Retracts themselves are on their own channel not tied into the steering servo.
