How to Treat Dyslexia - Dyslexia Connect

What is the best dyslexia treatment? Find more information about dyslexia treatment at www.dyslexiaconnect.com . You can also find information about our online dyslexia tutoring.
There are many dyslexia treatment options out there, but how do you choose the best one? When looking for dyslexia treatment, the first thing to understand is that there is no "cure" for dyslexia. Since dyslexia is a neurological disorder, it cannot be "cured" in the way that a cold might be cured. However, dyslexia can be properly treated!
The best form of dyslexia treatment is dyslexia tutoring. Dyslexia tutoring using a proven method (such as the Orton-Gillingham Method) has been helping dyslexics make progress in reading and spelling for decades. Our online tutoring at Dyslexia Connect uses the Orton-Gillingham Method.
Dyslexia tutoring is the only proven dyslexia treatment method, and it works because it addresses the core difficulties that a dyslexic student experiences when they read and spell. Dyslexia tutoring provides the one-on-one instruction and progress monitoring that a dyslexic child needs to make progress. Dyslexia tutoring is the dyslexia treatment option that works.
We offer a free trial of our online dyslexia tutoring program at www.dyslexiaconnect.com .

    I'm 22 was diagnosed at the age of 10 with moderate Dyslexia haven't really been given any help on how to manage it. it's to the point where it takes me forever to read just one page of a book so I have stopped reading them haven't read a book since I was 8 that took me 6 months to read (176 pages). i would love to be able to pick any book and read it but it just takes too long my spelling isn't much better. it's cost me my dream job of becoming a big cat conservationist as I can't pass the exams needed. I have had enough it's embarrassing when your 8-year-old cousin is reading and spelling at a higher level

    Is Dyslexia treatment something that is covered by insurance? Does having him officially diagnosed beyond his academic tutor helpful (psychiatrist)? Might a behavioral ophthalmologist be helpful?

  • @DyslexiaConnect

    @DyslexiaConnect

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi, Penny. Thanks for your questions. Regarding dyslexia treatment being covered, this depends on the insurance provider. So, you would need to check with them about that. They would be able to answer the question about a diagnosis being needed, as well. Dyslexia is actually a neurological issue, rather than a vision issue, so, if the issue is dyslexia, you would want to see out dyslexia tutoring, rather than an ophthalmologist.

    Is there anything you would suggest for an adult. I am looking to improve my hand writing, as I can't read it, it is driving me crazy! What about helping with hand eye ordination, is there anything that can be done to help that. I was in a special ed program in grade school, and did well until I got depressed. I am in college at the moment trying to go back, and find that it is so hard to write, and remembering anything is impossible, it is like my brain is a strainer and all the information just flows out. I am so frustrated, I can't take it anymore, I haven't been able to move on with my life in 20 years.

    There is no cure to dyslexia people say there is, but things can be a little better but there is no cure. These methods work but not that much effective. I myself suffer from dyslexia, and things get worse when you are at corporate workplace where people think you are normal and take you as lazy, dumb and stupid. My English have improved a lot, but i still get stuck with basics of understanding. And even managers are not willing to understand you. I have improved my English to such a level that i scored 99.97 percentile in CAT(India,MBA entrance exam) in English one time, and 100(7 out of 1,50,000 students got that score) in second attempt at English which is considered toughest at testing your English skills in India and won awards in giving presentations in English. But at job i can't get enough out of long discussions and meetings and end up average as i can't get too much stuff inside my head like others get and then have to struggle to survive. I got fired 3 times because of that and have lower package then average. Companies don't care about your presentation skills they want a person to deliver the given task on time. In India there is no help for dyslexics at work as in USA or Europe so even if you tell them you are dyslexic they can fire you without mercy because in the end of day they want someone who does work for them faster.

    I took a training in that method when i was 7, still there were problems. Problem is people are not aware of it, even my senior hr manager didn't knew about it, and then they have quick fix it approaches, my friend works in america and he says people are so helpful in daily office life, in India it's a bloodshed, every one is trying to out-muscle the other one, there is no form of team work, maybe people don't know what is teamwork, at those places your weaknesses are being attacked everyday, everyone wants to survive, because of such a huge population, manager mind works like if he doesn't show results in 1 week i will hire new one, in america, people are few, has a better education system, people respect others, in India even normal people struggle to survive, so there is a lot of politics, backstabbing and lying and when someone tries to fit in becomes more difficult in the RED OCEAN. Managers never try to build a BLUE OCEANE they just want the work to be done.
