How to treat an elderly kitty with intestinal IBD, lymphoma and kidney disease. Hint: Go holistic
It's true! Cats have nine lives, but at a certain point, who is counting. Alley came to me right after a biopsy revealed her lifelong IBD morphed into intestinal lymphoma and that was four years ago. It's always hard to say if the holistic medicine cured the cancer for sure but her digestion is very stable. When I couldn't see her due to the pandemic, she lost one pound and stopped eating. But with acupuncture, NAET (the vials and collar) , vitamin B12 injections (done with a tiny thirty gauge needle), she seems to be doing so well. Recently her creatnine dropped from 4 to 2.5 after fluids, acupuncture and herbs helped her kidneys. Cancer should be treated holistically in most instances as these older cats do not usually thrive with chemotherapy. Go ask your vet to learn acupuncture and herbs. I love your gentle and Holistac approach to your animals and patients. Alicat is doing really well, despite having such illnesses. I hope she can live comefortably for a long time yet. If people only knew how wonderful animals actualy are, so many people never even take the trouble to find out, even as pet owners, so very sad!

My cat was constipated and my vet said she had IBD so I switched her to Instinct wet food. I couldn’t find anymore because of COVID so I asked my vet if he sold that type and if not would he sell me some of his food. He said he wouldn’t suggest his food because it would upset her stomach and I should switch her back to her original Iams kibble. He said the xrays showed thickening in her stomach and intestines which meant that she had stomach cancer and IBD. He treated it with 40mg Depomedrol injections every 2 weeks. I think she died from dehydration, they don’t administer fluids.
