I just found your channel. THANK YOU! I am a solo female traveler who will need to get a mobility device before I take another trip. I’m been doing a lot of research, and I’m leaning toward an all-terrain folding power chair. (I need something that can handle cobblestones.) My biggest concern is maneuvering a suitcase. Your video is very reassuring! I look forward to checking out the rest of your channel.

I'm not sure if you've already answered the question but I'll ask if anyway. How and where do you find reliable electrical outlets to charge up you mobility device? I travel and I'm not always able to find an outlet and if I do I feel I have to ask permission to use it or i may be rejected.

I know this video was from years ago but I'm just now going thru your lists. I love your videos but now I'm mad at you. Now you're pushing me to do solo travel again. I used to before I needed my scooter. I only went to work and small trips within the city solo using my scooter. I really want to travel again so I guess I will 😀. Im going to do a solo cruise either from NYC/NJ or take amtrak to FLA. Pray for me😇

Just came across your video. I'm always intimidated to fly because I have a physical disability, now my knees are hurting and it's harder to walk. I'm considering a scooter or electric wheelchair and doing research on the best. Recently, I took a rollator on the plane and that went ok. However, I think a scooter will be better for me because I love to go site seeing (experienced riding the scooter at Disney World, made me enjoyed the trip). The rollator still got me tired and I fell using it. I have never traveled with an e-scooter or e-wheelchair, thank you for encouraging that we can travel solo.

Hi Nina. I would suggest taking a look at Travelscoot USA. I got one about a year ago and it changed my life. Its only about 30 lbs and folds very small. Good luck!

I have Multiple Sclerosis and use a mobility scooter. Just recently traveled to Barcelona and Amsterdam. Super wheelchair accessible cities. Flew both times with Wow Air and Icelandair. Highly recommend for wheelchair users. Don't recommend Vueling, Spain budget airline as they do not have a wheelchair that goes up and down the aisle.

I have MS as well and it has progressed to the point that I need a Mobility scooter to get through the airport. Tomorrow will be my first time taking the scooter on an airplane it's stressful because it's new so videos like this are helpful. I refuse to give up my life to my disease. I would love to visit Barcelona it's nice to know it's wheelchair accessible.

@@katlady5000 Hello, I am new to traveling with a mobility scooter. I have started with you. Sorry. I broke my hip five years ago and never recovered. I have no idea how to travel with a four-wheeled scooter on an airplane. Or the cost. I want to take my Mother on a vacation. Can I ask you for some tips, answers?

@@occamsrazor9183 I just flew to Las Vegas on Southwest with my scooter. The information you need to know about your scooter is the weight and the type of battery. A dry battery is better for air travel. When I booked the flight I let them know I was traveling with a scooter. Then I checked in at the front desk they gave me a tag with the specs of my scooter. I went through the pre-TSA line which is also a disable line for security. I removed the basket from my scooter and put in my carryon while I was packing. At Security I had to take off my shoes and put my bags on the x-ray. They had a cane that I could use to get into the body scan machine. But they asked if I could stand in the machine which I could. If you aren't able I'm sure they had other options. They wipe down the scooter. Then once I was at the gate I checked in again and they tagged the scooter. I went near the boarding area ahead of time since I pre boarded the plane. I put the scooter in free wheel mode, removed the key, fold down the seat, and mine had a dial so the steering column folds down. I had a cane to get from the scooter to my seat. One of the flight attendants helped me with my bags. People in general are very nice. Las Vegas is a very wheelchair accessible city. I did airport shuttles through Super Shuttle they have wheel chair lift vans. I drive my scooter onto the lift. Then I stay in the scooter for the car ride and there is a seat belt that goes across my lap. So I didn't rent a car in Las Vegas I used a shuttle to the hotel (Mandalay Bay) they have a free tram system to the Luxor and Excalibur hotels that you can use the scooter on. So even without a rental car I could move easily through the city. This post is pretty long but I wanted to include important details. I hope this helps.

@@katlady5000 Wow, This is extremely helpful. Yes, I can manage for short distances with a cane also, preferably if there is more for a free hand to hold onto. Your scooter sounds similar to mine, a pride scooter that folds the steering and seat also? Does the weight cost more? and they move me from the scooter to the aisle wheelchair I see. My Mother wants to go to the Virgin Islands or maybe Las Vegas. I envy you, nothing stopping you! The only time I ever flew, I jumped out. It was skydiving years ago. I'm a guy and 46. Life completely changes in our cases. I live in Oregon. I guess if you say it's that easy, money is not a problem, I was thinking I am paying more than someone not disabled?

@@occamsrazor9183 southwest doesn't consider the mobility devices baggage so there was no cost to take it. I have also taken my walker on a plane no charge. I take my scooter right to the doorway of the plane so I don't need wheelchair service. I used it with my walker at LAX it was completely disorganized so I prefer the independence of my scooter. I have a drive medical HD Phoenix 3. You will want to know the make and model of your scooter. The pride is very silimar. I used shared ride for supershuttle from the airport to the hotel in Vegas it was about $25 each way. Which is about the cost of a cab. I had a work trip to Anaheim the shuttle there was about $45 each way from Long beach airport to near Disneyland. You can rent a scooter in Las Vegas but that airport if big so I'm glad I took my scooter. Also if you stay in Mandalay Bay get the roll in shower room and request a shower. They are much easier for a person with mobility issues.
