Honestly, it depends on your preference. Some people prefer airbnb, because you get lots of space and that "local living" feel. Others-hotels, because you get to enjoy different services and amenities. You can find good deals for both, so this one is completely up to you.

I always love your videos, thank you for doing them. We'll be leaving for Italy soon and I always find them so informative and helpful. I do have a couple questions though. Would a picture of your passport be enough for stores, or does it have to be the real thing? Also does the purchase from the store have to be greater than the amount you said, or is it total purchases combined at the end of your trip? Thank you again for all the great videos.
@StayFabulousTL
4 ай бұрын
Thank YOU for being a part of the community! Sure, will be happy to answer your questions. A picture of your passport is enough (just make sure the entire thing is visible, including all the letters and numbers around it.) The purchase from a single store needs to be greater than the amount, not the total purchase combined at the end of your trip. Please keep in mind that the limit has been decreased to 70 euros. Have a wonderful trip and happy shopping😉

Dianne, as someone who owns 2 food tours in Rome, I can tell you that tips for a tour guide are always appreciated but are not necessary. As far as how much to tip, there is no set amount. I've seen people tip anywhere between 10 and 230 euros (it depends on how much you liked your tour guide, if the tour was private, how many of you were on the tour, if you had any special requirements/requests, etc)

Hello, I happily stumbled across your KZread video. Great info; very helpful. Do you have a tip on how to go from FCO Airport to our hotel in Trevi? We are arriving from Canada mid August and after a long flight, I want to avoid the heat and humidity. The hotel has a car transfer service for 57 euros and seems to be an average cost. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
@StayFabulousTL
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Eve! You can either take a cab or a train ( I believe there is also a bus option.) I personally used train only once as I love to get out of the plane and get home comfortably as soon as possible. But I know a lot of people use the train. You can find signs for the train everywhere once you pass the immigration. As far as a car service, this year the prices went up a bit. A taxi used to be 48 euros, now I believe it's 50. So 57 is on the expensive end but that will guarantee that someone will be waiting for you right at the airport and you will not have to fight for a taxi in the heat and humidity.

Hi Anastasiya. Thank you for your videos about travel tips, particularly in Rome. My wife and I are planning to go to Rome sometime in October and we were looking for accomodation somewhere in the central area of Rome and we find it too expensive. You mentioned in this video your recommended locations for accomodation. Could you please give me these locations again? And do you think that October is also a good time to go visit Rome? Thank you.
@StayFabulousTL

October is a great time to visit Rome (beautiful weather!), just keep in mind that it is also one of the busiest month of the year for tourism, so it will be expensive and crowded. As far as other areas to look into - Garbatella, Piramide and Pigneto.

Hi Anastasia, I’m planning my dream holiday to Italy. Been wanting to go from the time I was a teenager and now entering 40 and after a health scare I decided I am going to make it happen. I’m saving my pennies to make this solo trip from South Africa. One question: the shopping for the tax refund, is it one purchase or can we buy multiple items at one store? I love your clothes but will also like to purchase something for my 8 year old little boy. Thank you so much 🙏🏼. I’m addicted to your videos
@StayFabulousTL
Жыл бұрын
So kind of you! Thank you. Very excited for your upcoming trip! You can buy as many items as you'd like in the store for a tax refund. As long as the minimum amount exceeds 154.94 €, the store will be able to issue you a refund.
@johnbruce9367

I have been planning as well for the last few months. My tip is when you want tickets for something find the official website. The tickets are much less than what the tour sites offer. And one thing I wish I had found earlier is in Naples you can get 1, 3, 5 or 7 day passes that are a good deal for admission to Pompeii and the MANN and it includes other sites as well
❤❤❤
For using the free now app for taxis, how do I know the pick up and destination addresses? Can I still use the app without knowing the addresses?
I've been loving all your videos! My husband and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2024.. I was thinking March (because that's when my parents can watch our 4 kids) but then I heard its rainy and wet then, and many places are closed.. is that true? If we came the 2nd week of March for 9 nights between rome, florence and venice, what do you think?
@StayFabulousTL
Жыл бұрын
March is a bit of a wild card, to be honest. You might get some rain. This year has been unlike any other year, we got so much rain. But who knows, it might be a completely different March next year. I wish I could tell you with certainty but lately every year we've been getting a different weather, so now its hard to predict anything.

For the stores- it depends on the store, some do and some don't. Things changed a lot post pandemic. Now as far as restaurants, they do close somewhere between 3-3:30pm and 7-7:30pm. There are a few restaurants that remain open during that time, but most of them are touristy.

Hi, I was thinking of staying in Trastevere for my 4 nights in Rome. What are your thoughts? I'll be there in December
@StayFabulousTL
Жыл бұрын
To be honest, it depends where in Trastevere. There are some quiet parts and there are some really loud ones. Also, please keep in mind that it's not well connected to the other areas of Rome so you might have to walk a lot or take cabs. But if you want to be in "the center of action" and be close to some of the best food places in Rome then it's a good choice.
Great tips!!!!! I will definitely be taking advantage of the tax refund tip!!!!!

Sure, you can always go on your own. You can use a train to get to Naples and then there are a few ways (car, ferry, etc) to get to Amalfi Coast. You definitely don't need to be on a tour to experience those places.
Anastasia, do you have a video on the best apps to use in Italy/Sicily? I downloaded the free now taxi app you mentioned. Just wondered if you had anything else maybe for the Trains and metros, shopping, quick advice, maybe even the best translation apps to name a few. Thank you! Love your content! It’s the best🤌🏼❤️

Definitely wait! A lot of times I just come to the train station and buy tickets right before my departure. Of course, it depends on the destination, but to popular places you will have trains depart every 30 min/1 hour.

For our first visit, being elderly and not vaccinated should we go with a Tour company? Or is it a lot less expensive to go on my own? They seem to be so expensive, and I can never find the 3 destinations in one package. Venice, Rome and Amalfi Coast.

Hi Sylvia! I think it depends on the tour company and the type of a vacation you prefer. If you like everything planned for you then tour company is a better option. I personally prefer to discover places on my own at my speed and create my own itinerary. But it depends what you prefer.
