In the same boat lol. I do have relaxed hair and my last relaxer was 5 months ago. I’ve been letting my hair grow out as I continue to do protective styles. Another thing that has helped me is following and subscribing to different accounts who have MY hair type/texture. I always said natural hair was too much for me to handle and my relaxed hair made things easier but listening to others tell their stories and give their tips inspired me to have self love for my curly hair and made me start this journey in the first place.

I haven't had a relaxer in my hair for a year, but I use a blow dryer and flat iron on wash days. I want to go natural, but it is so time consuming and I am really impatient. I always use deep conditioner, when I wash my hair. I want to do the big chop, but my edges aren't great, do to when I was getting my hair braided all the time YEARS ago and they still haven't grown back. It's depressing!

I finally stopped using my straightener yesterday. I’ve been straightening and relaxing my hair since I was 11. So I’ve basicly got 17 years of damage and a loooong journey to go. The last keratin treatment I’ve had was a year ago and i’m just exhausted from it all. I want to go natural and you’ve inspired me. I really don’t know a thing about curly hair and your video has been really helpful.

Thanks for making this video. It is very helpful. I just started my natural hair journey a week ago. I'm Puerto Rican and had really long natural curly hair in high school. I wasn't happy with the way I looked so bleached and straightened my hair for years. It is true what you said about it is a spiritual journey as well. I have been trying to feel more comfortable and confident with myself and the hair God gave me. Seeing all these youtube videos shows me how beautiful it is to have curly hair. Thank you.

you are such a life saver, i completely ruined my curls by constantly straight my hair and bleaching it twice this past year. my curls were ruined and my ends are now straight. i’ve never experienced this before but i’m trusting the process and all of your videos are giving me hope. officially 6 months heat free and still transitioning.

Cream Of Nature products are your go-to for No Sulfates and silicones . I’m transitioning I literally just started and this video is so educational!! Thank you. And also EVERYONE please remember that GENETICS play a big role in hair growth .. another reason why I didn’t start my hair journey is because I thought people at my school would judge me . But I had come to realization and told myself that *I* come First and their opinions don’t matter . I’m so excited for my hair to start getting back healthy.

Hello and very informative video! I'm 58 and beginning my journey to natural hair TODAY! Today I will throw out all of the shampoo's and conditioners that I have, in addition to returning a very expensive curling iron that I recently purchased at Sally's. Whew! I'm not going to lie, PATIENCE IS NOT A TRAIT that I have acquired, when it comes to my hair. I've tried transitioning before, however, the part that really frustrated me was when the chemicals started growing out, I just didn't know what to do with my hair. Since watching your video, I now know what products I need and will be purchasing them today! PRAY FOR ME! I truly am tired of the chemicals that I've put in my hair, as I have been applying them for 40 years! I truly can't wait to see the definition of my true curls, even though it will take a year or more. Thank you!😃

I am working on my transitioning stage right now. I watched your part one video and looked and found your second and third video. During the first video you mentioned that your shampoos don't need to have sulfates and that other thing ( i forgot the name) in your shampoos and conditions , then i went looked at my hair products and it had those ingredients , so then i started to look up good shampoos and conditioners and i made a list of the one i would like to buy to help my hair . And plus im saving up my money so i can be able to do the things i want to do with my hair i will update my process of my hair. So thanks for the tips and advice to help me with my transitioning stage

I’ve never gone natural in my life, my moms my hairstylist so she’s been controlling all my hair decisions since I was born. I had relaxed hair until I was like 13 since my mom started to realize what the treatment was doing to my hair but even after that I did my hair every 1-2 weeks keeping it in it’s straight form as best as I could until now because Im pretty sure it’s killing my hair so let’s see how the rest of this year looks during this process for my hair.
