How To Transfer Your Website To Another Hosting Provider
In this tutorial I'll go over 2 methods of how to transfer your website from one hosting company to another. The transfer process is really simple!
► Hostinger 90% OFF ➜ emit.reviews/go/hostinger-202...
► SiteGround 50% OFF ➜ emit.reviews/go/siteground-20...
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
In this tutorial you'll learn how to transfer your website from one host to another completely free of charge. This can be done on absolutely any web hosting providers and you don't have to pay their technicians or contact them at all. By learning how to transfer your website from one host to another you'll never have to pay for a website migration service ever again.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
TIME TABLE
Intro - 00:00
WordPress Website Transfer (Max 500MB size) - 0:20
Updating Name Servers - 3:20
Manual Website Migration (Unlimited Size) - 4:35
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Using a WordPress Plugin (MAX Website size - 500MB)
► Plugin to Increase Transfer Size ➜ import.wp-migration.com/
In other to transfer your website to another host you'll need to take these steps.
1. Open the WordPress dashboard of your old web hosting provider and install and activate a plugin called "All In 1 WP Migration".
2. Click on "All In 1 WP Migration" button and select the "Export" option from the menu.
3. Choose to export your website as "File" and save the zip file somewhere on your computer. These are all of your website files for a successful website migration.
4. Now, to transfer your website you'll need to install a clean WordPress version on the web hosting providers account you want to transfer your website to.
5. After WordPress is installed go into the control dashboard and install the All In 1 WP Migration plugin again.
6. This time from the menu choose "Import", if your website is larger than 64Mb you'll need to install the plugin extension I've linked above.
7. Upload the File you've downloaded earlier. And the plugin will transfer your website to another hosting provider automatically.
8. Now you'll need to update your Permalink Structure. Click "Update Permalink Structure" and choose “Post Name” then click save. Your website should be transferred at this point!
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Manually Migrate Website (ANY SIZE)
1. Inside your OLD web hosting provider, navigate to the File Manager and compress all of the files there into a zip file. Then download the Zip file onto your computer.
2.Inside your OLD web hosting provider, navigate tothe PHPMyAdmin area and export all of the database files as an SQL file. Download the file onto your computer.
3. Inside your NEW Web hosting provider and install a fresh WordPress version.
4. Inside your NEW web hosting provider access the PHPMyAdmin area and remove all of the existing files. Replace them with the SQL file you've downloaded earlier.
5. Inside your NEW web hosting provider access the FIle Manager and delete all of the files there. Replace them by unpacking the zip file you've downloaded earlier.
6.Update the WP-Config files with the new prefix to merge the database and files of your new site.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
So these are the 2 methods of how to transfer your website to another host. While the first method of website migration is easier, it's limited to maximum size of 500mb for your website. If you have a larger website than 500mb you'll have to use method 2 to successfully transfer your website.

UPDATE: All in 1 Migration plugin now doesn't have the basic plan (they increased the limit by default). But if you need an even BIGGER limit, you don't need the paid plan. Just navigate to your website files via FTP or (File Manager). Find the .htaccess file and add this line at the very bottom. php_value upload_max_filesize 2048M php_value post_max_size 2048M php_value memory_limit 512M php_value max_execution_time 300 php_value max_input_time 300 This will increase your limits, good luck with your website transfers!

Awesome video! Thanks for the clear explanation.
This is amazingly helpful, I know go daddy and bluehost are cheap hosting but heres now a resource that is bang on correct - Those large companies can't even create any close equivalent video.. just hours wasted on frustrating, useless support chats. I was begging them to at least guide me in the transfer process and a vid like this has saved the day. Super easy content to watch too, great pitch, bravo.
So easy to understand by this tutorial have watched many but this was good video 👍

Thank you sir! The manual way worked PERFECTLY. I'd actually recommend the manual way as you won't have to worry about any plugins failing on you. Sounds way harder than it is!
Thanks so much for this, I spent an hour trying to follow someone else's tutorial and didn't get anywhere. Watched your video and did it in 10 mins. Cheers.

Super Amazing! Among the best tutorials on hosting migration. Does this your no-bluff guide work on a website with subdomains?
Great, fast-paced video. Here are 4 open questions I have that hardly any migration tutorial talks about: 1) How about moving the email files (when the hosting package one initially bought was domain name + web hosting + email hosting), lets say all under the old domain name (just moving to a new host) 2) How about moving things like additional DNS records (CNAMEs, TXT records) that one installed over the years, e.g. to authenticate SMTP providers to send mails on behalf of your domain 3) How about other databases and files that reside out of the WP database/wordpress directory - e.g. ecommerce module that has a folder in the root of the domain, next to the wordpress files and that has also its own tables in the 4) How to deal with ecommerce transaction that still "hit" the website on the old host after you took a copy but before you moved to the new host. How long does it take for nameserver to update? - what to do with transactions that still got processed on the hold database during the DNS updating period? Any suggestions, pointers to and of these questionsß
Thank you so much! This was super informative! Does anyone know why whenever I zip a file the contents in a file it more than quadruples in size?
thanks for the guide need to know about my email data
@Emit.Reviews
3 жыл бұрын
The emails won't be transferred and you'll need to delete the old box and create a new one in your new host. Best thing you can do is archive the emails or "forward" them to another box to still have them available.

@@Emit.Reviews by pointing my domain to hostinger i can,t be able to login my previous web hosting server
Hey man, can i follow this guide to move from shared hosting to vps?
Now I'm clear that we have 2 methods for migration. I was confused that some KZreadrs use plugins to migrate while others do it manually. We can do this manually whether the website's size is more than 500MB or not. Excellent tutorial but I have a suggestion please slow down a bit it may mess up things for those who don't know much about WordPress
What is I have a main website with a subdomain? Does this work also?
So a question, if you have sub domains, is it the same process? what about email set up and passwords? set up a new subdomain and recreate everything? then upload site files and connect to database?
Good tutorial...BTW whats the hurry - are you going to miss your train or something? This tutorial is like sooooooo faaaassttt

@@Emit.Reviews The tutorial was good for me ...not so to the people around me. Just an observation if you can slow the pace down by just 0.25 will be great. The video was informative and good. Just the speed of it. Have a Good one ahead
Great - 1st method is easy and workable. One thing to know which is very important i.e. do I need to transfer domain name first or website file? Because on new host provider it might be mandatory which comes first to them!!!! Please assist. Regards
@Emit.Reviews
3 жыл бұрын
There's absolutely no difference in what you transfer first. I usually transfer my website files then the domain to have a little bit less downtime on my website.
Would this also be a good way to move a website you built on your server to your clients server and hosting?
Can you easily find out how big your website is, before choosing the type of switch you will use to migrate from one host to another? Thanks for your time and expertise

is possible to create a website on editor x and run it true hostgator?
How long does it take to realize that you haven't migrated your email accounts? What do you do if you realize it after the original hosting service closes your account? It didn't happen to me but very few migration tutorials ever mention email.

Hey, Emit! excellent guide. Always find your videos helpful. Keep rocking. I have a doubt (more of a dumb question maybe). The thing is, I have created a few domain emails using my current web hosting's cPanel. If I migrate my website to a new web host, what happens to those domain emails?
@Emit.Reviews
3 жыл бұрын
Hey man, not a dumb question at all. Once the migration is over I recommend deleting your emails at the old host and re-creating them at the new host. Since you'll be using different Ip address and MX address to send the emails now.

@@Emit.Reviews Gotcha. Thanks 🍻
I have one question for you can I use total commander to upload and extract zipped WP content? instead off file manager on my hosting I mean web ftp? With Best wishes, Jan
Is there a way I can migrate my website to another hosting provider using the same website name and domain only with WP, without name servers because the previous guy that works for the company I am going to now doesn't want to give us access to the old web hosting provider. So I am stuck with only WP login info and we want to keep the same name.
Hi, emit thanks for your video. Can you confirm does All in 1WP really allows to import up to 2GB file size? Because it shows 2GB now instead of 65mb. Thanks

They keep changing the "limit" but it has nothing to do with the plugin. Its just a PHP file transfer setting (you can even change it yourself at any time). So it should work no problem
Will all the plugins automatically be transferred too?
i need a help how to increase upload limit of phpmyadmin i got only 256mb max memory how to increase it i tried to edit .htaccess bit nothing happened
Great guide but following the manual website migration section but my file upload limit is 500mb on hostgator... so sad

I have one question I don`t have put an old name of the database and user and Server because I import old database with old information so that is not need to override the name of the debase in the wp config file?
@Emit.Reviews
3 жыл бұрын
You still need to do that if you use my method. Because the way I do it is I create a new blank website automatically. So the system creates all of the necessary folders and files. And then I just put the old files into the new containers. But the config file still looks for the "new" names so you have to change that.
so as I said I have to put old name of the database and other other old credentials Am I right?
@Emit.Reviews
3 жыл бұрын
You don't need to change the name of the database, because if you followed the steps as I've done in the video the wp-config should already be created with the new names. But you do need to change the PREFIX to the old one from the new one. Let me explain why this happens. 1. You create a "blank" website it autocreates a database and config file. It links everything together. 2. You enter inside the database and delete all of the information there, then change it with the old info. (Since you're only changing the CONTENT of the database, not importing it from scratch you don't need to change the database name in config) 3. However, the database PREFIX won't match now and it's part of the content so the only thing you need to update is the config. If you follow the steps in the video exactly it should work no problems :) It's kinda hard to explain this via text.
Can you do something like this if you’re self hosting?
@Emit.Reviews

Absolutely, the process is the same. Just instead of pulling the file from the server, you should already have them on your computer
Why does my export download always get stuck on 9.6mb everytime?
Pro tip for big website. If you are using Hostinger, simply download the .wpress file first using the plugin, then request website migration from support.

I have migrated from dreamhost to bluehost while keeping domain same from dreamhost only using your steps. My website is extremely slow at hostgator I want to transfer to Hostinger but do I need to migrate all my website or would it become faster by just transferring the old domain to hostinger? Please help I’m a bit confuse
@Emit.Reviews
2 жыл бұрын
You need to transfer the whole website. But before that make sure you're actually optimizing your website and content. Hostgator isn't a particularly fast hosting company but it can be optimized for an okay result. Don't spend more money before trying to solve your problem, do the research, see what helps. If at the end the speed still doesn't satisfy you then yes - switch providers or upgrade your plan. How to speed up your website video - kzread.info/dash/bejne/moN4steGptvAqqw.html Good luck!

The .wpress file is generated by allin1migration you need to use the plugin (import function) if you want to extract these files
So if I want to keep the same domain name, do I point the nameserver first? Or migrate the site itself first?

Thanks Emit! I'm a little confused about something: When you log in to the newly installed WordPress, do you create a new login or use your old WordPress login? If it's the same login, can you use this to edit several different domains with the same WordPress login? Thanks
@Emit.Reviews
Жыл бұрын
When you create a new instance you'll need to create login information (it can be the same as your old site, but you still need to create it) The way these WordPress logins are handled is "per instance". So, 2 multiple sites can have the exact same login info. Every website has its own WordPress instance installed, so while the login information can be the same. You'll see info in regards to that specific site when you log in. Hope this clears it up a bit.
