Exactly what I was thinking!! Wow! I am coming from PC/Android where I had no trouble adding files to my expandable memory card. THIS!! This though was NOT intuitive AT ALL!! I love Apple and hate it at the same time! This relationship is toxic. Lol.

Why did I assume all my photos I take on my phone would be on there from my iCloud because It’s literally iCloud…. Why wouldn’t they transfer over? I don’t get it.

Well done Apple. Once again you failed to let your users do a task as simple as transferring videos. I both a brand new iMac and an Iphone X. Airdrop is stuck in Preparing for +45 minutes Image Capture only shows me my last 50 pictures + videos. Google Drive, Dropbox, Onedrive... is taking waaay too long + consider privacy issues + the quality is suffering a lot from the uploading and downloading. Who has the same problem?

we just tried image capture and it only brought up 20 photos of over 2,000. i'm assuming theres some security setting on or something? i'm trying to get a 20 minute video off a friends device

Hope you were on a Wifi network. Also, Airdrop is only suggested to transfer a few files at once. Not 20GB of content.

Nope. I have a brand new MacBook with NO “Image Capture” nor is it available in App Store. Garbage

The tip on using Image Capture was extremely helpful! Had a Mac for 5 years and used it for heavy editing and never knew about that as an option. This is going to save me a ton of time. It works perfectly for me... - Turn on wifi and bluetooth on your phone - Turn on wifi(same network) and bluetooth on your mac - Open Airdrop on your mac and your phone will appear on the screen. - Just drag and drop videos or photos to your phone symbol on airdrop window.

It worked perfeclty fine for me, You need to make sure that you have the same internet and bluetooth connection, I also connected my ipad and mac with a cable so that might also affect the results!

Just in case any of these methods were not working out for anyone else besides me. There is another way. Download the vnc app and click and drag the video you want to send from Mac to iPhone app just how he explained doing it to the iMovie. Open the app on your phone and save it that way. I didn’t have much memory on my phone and after trying all these methods this was the one that finally worked. Thanks so much man for the upload!

Best tutorial on youtube regarding transfer data between two machines, easy to follow & to the point. Thanks Justin

Thank you so very much. My old iPhones (3GS and 4S) are impossible to get the videos off of. Using the Photos app (a terrible app IMO) only allowed a thumbnail picture of each video file. Not to mention iTunes and the sync function that truly has deleted some of my files in the past so it couldn't be trusted. I used the Image Capture function and it saved me so much frustration. Again thanks.

Hey thnx, once you mentioned the upload/share icon, I knew that my mini Mac was connected to our home WiFi along with my phone- so I paused the video and successfully transferred videos I needed from the iPhone!

You are best getting them from iCloud I reckon. This means you get the full quality files as the one's on the phone could be optimised if you have this selected like I do (to save space)
