How To Train PROPERLY In Rocket League
This video covers how to most efficiently use the two training tools in Rocket League that are freeplay and custom training packs. These two tools are extremely useful for learning new mechanics, increasing the speed of your game, developing consistency, and so much more.

When higher ranked players give advice to lower ranks in Rocket League, they’ll often say something like “just go into custom training” or “just go into freeplay”. These tips are not helpful at all. Anyone can enter freeplay or custom training in Rocket League by clicking a button but very few people use these tools correctly. In order to learn how to use them correctly, you need to have experience playing at a high level in Rocket League. However, you can't have experience playing at a high level in Rocket League unless you actually rank up, which is what these training packs help you to do, but you can't really rank up fast unless you use them properly which just leads back into itself. This video helps solve that issue. I have plenty of experience playing at grand champ level and beyond in Rocket League so I know how you're supposed to use these tools in order for them to help you the most in actual online matches. If I had known these tips when I was ranking up through silver, gold, platinum, diamond, and even champion, I would have improved so much faster. Until I had reached around 2000 hours a while back, I was still pretty clueless as to how I was supposed to properly practice in Rocket League. This video is all the best tips for training put together in one video to help you be as efficient as possible when you're grinding out those mechanics or just trying to improve you game speed. There aren't any other high quality videos in Rocket League that specifically cover this topic of how to use these training tools. There are plenty of specific drills you can work on in freeplay like the wall bounce game or the mini pad drill, but for the freeplay part of this video I just covered how you should practice in freeplay if you don’t have anything particular in mind. Let me know if you would want to see a video covering freeplay drills in the future though. For custom training, there are so many inefficient ways to practice with it, it’s just unbelievable. For offensive training packs, there’s two main things that I see people do wrong with these. The first one is that people wait until the ball is either closer to them or closer to the ground before they hit it. The second I see people do wrong in training packs in Rocket League is jumping WAY too early to hit the ball at the correct angle. Lastly, I created a training pack that will help any player at any skill level to play faster. The thing about this pack is that it forces you to hit these shots in the correct way. There are two rules I require you to follow for it though. The first one is that your first touch on the ball needs to happen on or before that final beep of the count down. The second rule is that you need to go grab the mini pad that you’re lined up with before jumping for the ball. If you follow these two rules, you'll notice your Rocket League skill for playing faster in online matches will increase tremendously because of this training pack.

    Another tip for custom training packs is to make sure you get power on the ball rather than just tapping it towards goal as it bounces 3 times before it goes into the net. Focusing on getting boomer hits consistently rather than barely hitting towards goal for an easy save for the opponent is very beneficial.

    Love these videos, the only thing i would add into the custom training portion, especially for any shot accuracy or striker training with aerials, hold boost the whole way through your aerial. Your jump timing should be at a time where you can boost all the way to the ball before your hit, if you have to throttle or let go of the boost to properly hit the ball your jump timing was off. Obviously in game or in training you'll never be 100% but its a good way to know if your being as fast as possible while also no prejumping the aerial, As an example notice how wayton boosts until he hits the ball with each shot (minus the small throttle on his double jump, ideally hell fix this with practice) There is little to no wasted momentum since every aerial is taken as straight as possible.

  • @bobbythecoachguy9331

    @bobbythecoachguy9331

    4 жыл бұрын

    The way i started is much like how Sceylo mentioned with looking at your opponents point of view, but the biggest thing is with practice comes better awareness in this game. a big part of building that awarness (how i started) or as you mentioned how to know what your looking for is to save every game you play, and grab some replays off ballchasing.com/ or the pro-replay google drive (drive.google.com/drive/folders/1z2WzNRlR5D6S99iupckuteBNm8HAe7Xd). to start look at every goal scored and try to notate where your team or the enemy team (do both) gave up the goal. Was it third skipping back post rotation, maybe first man gave up free possession, Lack of backboard defense maybe, possibly even a mechanical error? Alot of learning how to do your own replays is learning how goals are scored and saved. Eventually from seeing certain rotation choices or positioning choices go poorly and a goal being scored or given up youll be able to identify it even in situations where the opponent might have missed the punishment oppertunity. Anyway thats the free way to do it if wayton never makes a video about it. The payed option is to pay a coach to teach you and walk you through some replays together so you understand how they look at the game better.

    @@Rodriguo322 what? No, you shouldn't go for very many high aerials in 1s anyways, if you miss you just give them the ball and an open net. The pack is so you can practice reaching the ball at the right time, and to help realize when that time is. It also helps you reach the ball faster than your opponent by giving you the goal of hitting it on last beep or after. If you can't get power watch some aerial tutorials (virge makes really good tutorials), you don't want to commit for a ball you aren't going to put anywhere

    Because you're probably really stupid in-game. Like not even joking. People that have good mechanics but are lower ranks are legitimately just either slow or have bad gamesense or bad decision-making. Like myself. I can hit ceiling musty double taps n all this complicated shit but when it comes to simply rotating I become a grade A smooth-brained dumbass. Which is basically the entirety of c2 come to think of it..

    @@UltimateDuck97 ^ This. Pros have proven through their own videos that positioning, tactics and passing effectively beats mechanics every time. Some have even done Road to GC without really boosting until after platinum. I can't consistently air dribble, flick or make ceiling plays; however I can hit a mean pass and rotate properly. That's why I'm C3.

    I'm not gonna lie I've watched tutorials on tutorials on tutorials about EVERYTHING in rl and most of them... suck but there is 1 rl KZread that has never let me down and that's you wayton. Your tutorials are always explained and shown carefully you give options then explain each you show what's wrong you show what's right. I'm a d3 and also a coach for newer players. Your tutorials are carrying me through this game and most of the people I train I use your tips or give your channel and videos for them to watch. Much love can't wait to play you in game 1 day when I get up there but I will and imma use the skills your vids taught me to win or not idk yet but keep it up 💯 😎🤟🤝🐐
